specs specs specs its not all about specs. To be able to sync iMessage, apps, music ect, across my iPhone iPad and MacBook is huge. Specs are good but the ecosystem is way more important.
So it will not be that interesting until that actually get it.

I totally agree with you, specs mean nothing If the software isn't optimized.. But keep in mind it comes with Android Jellybean, so the performance is very comparable to iOS..

You can't really make the ecosystem argument anymore, Android has a very large ecoystem, I think most people can easily get by with the Android Market..

And anyway, while the Nexus 10 will be lacking in areas, the $399 price tag makes up for it, especially when you consider the 300PPI display..

The deal maker for me is Apple ties their phones, tablets, laptops and desktops seamlessly together. What group of android devices can do this?

Android devices tie their phones and tablets together with Chrome. There isn't a whole lot of Apple tie-in that Google doesn't also do in a browser that can be accessed on any computer.

I.e. Facetime has a Google Hangout equivalent, iMessages are like Google Talk etc.

((That said, I think Apple has a much nicer presentation that really begins to shine when you get a household that uses Apple products; i.e. it's really easy for my Grandma to FaceTime rather than me try to show her how to setup a Google "Hangout"))

Per-ordered my iPad 4 early on per-order day, still no shipping notification from Apple though they're saying it will be delivered on Friday. They better get on it if they expect it to make it up to Northern Michigan by then.

I ordered mine 3:15 in the AM on pre-order day. I opted to get the free engraving done. When I check for my pending orders in the Apple Store app, it shows a delivery date of November 13. I don't know if this is because I opted for free engraving or because everything was sold out by the time I placed my order.

first it was a genuine question. second how is it inferior to the 4? it has an a15 which should be a beast and faster then the a6. it has more ram. it has a bigger screen size yet is still thinner and lighter and still has a higher ppi and its 100$ cheaper. so again if your not invested in apple eco how is it inferior?
no

Target is offering a $40 gift card with any iPad purchase (as advertised in this week's print ad). I've already preordered mine. But I wonder if they'll be getting these in...and if the deal is applicable. Would make good towards a case purchase.
ipad 2 and "the new iPad" only, ipad mini is specifically stated as not being eligible in the ad, at first it looked good cuz it said "...on all ipad purchases" but then it clearly went on to say the mini did not count. its a shame, would have been nice

Yeah,I agree with you:)
Here they come!

I haven't seen much excitement about the new iPad, but the iPad mini is generating a lot of interest among my friends.

Glad to see they will be stocked at locations other than just Apple stores.

Thats the problem with the Android fans, they list the specs and then assume all sort of things. Nobody knows if the A15 is faster than the A6 at driving a retina screen. Can we wait on the geekbench score? The screen has a bit more PPI but it wont matter since nobody will be able to tell the difference. Nobody knows how much memory the iPad 4 will have until its teardown and does it really matters in term of performance?

Want counts is the final product, not the sum of all its specs, especially if the specs are not balance which can cause bottlenecks and affects the entire device performance.
