Finally got it! But could not do the "remove US" from the URL...simply worked.
[doublepost=1473455744][/doublepost]Finally was able to get it, but did not use the "remove us" coz was not able to figure out where the US WAS COMING FROM...SIMPLY WORKED OUT! Delivery date Sept 16th....sweet....
 
Good news and bad news.

Good news: I was able to get past this error message by removing the /US from the URL. So anyone having this problem - worth a try.

Bad news: Now I'm getting the error message below. When I click "Select a location," every single store says "Unavailable." Unable to checkout at all now. I have extraordinarily low expectations of fixing this. Looks Like I may be giving Apple a call later today, if I can even get through.

Please do let me know if you get the bad news solved. I have the exact same issue and been on hold with Apple today for 4 hours, still no resolution. Thanks and good luck.
 
Anyone who struggled yesterday should try again today: the reservation system is now working properly. Get your order in before your reservation expires!

Still not working 100%, I still can't get past the part where you click continue after you click on the link in the email and enter your information. I get a message saying
Your request couldn’t be processed.
We’re sorry, but there was an error processing your request. Please try again later."
