because I showed up at 7am... skipped the entire line (b/c pre-order) and was out in 15 mins. now i can play with my phone all day at work and not have to worry about missing the UPS guy.

no brainer decision.

I'm not really worried about missing the ups guy and if I do, I'll get my phone on monday. I've waited this long, I certainly can wait a bit longer if need be.

I heard a truck outside while I was still laying in bed, rolled out, heard the bell ring as I was walking down my stairs, UPS man with the iPhone for me, talk about perfect! :) I was first on his delivery list though, so I guess I got lucky. Other people may not be so lucky. Still waiting on activation, but so it goes.

i live in nyc, walked into the att store on 24 and 5th at 10am and walked out at 1015 with a white 32. try and find a phone at best buy or att, but not at the 24th street store, I bought the last one.

Got to the store at 7:30am in the reserved line. The non reserved line was a lot shorter and people did seem to get in around the same time too. Anyhow, I did have a 16GB reserved but was able to upgrade to a black 32GB. Got out of the store by 9:15am. Thank god, I didn't decide to wake up super early and wait for no reason. There was no need for it, not only that when I got done, the line was way shorter for the reserved side.

I definitely just walked into our local AT&T store without reserving or anything. No line, no waiting. In and out in less than 10 minutes, including some idle chat with the sales rep.

I love living in a small town. :)

My wife did the same thing. She went to our local Apple store at 10AM EDT and saw the line was about two hours. There was an AT&T worker at the Apple store telling people to go to an AT&T store five minutes away and that there was no line. She drove over to the AT&T store and was out of there in 15 minutes with an activated phone.
