What kind of dimwit would buy a game that needs a controller to use, only to play it on a tiny screen? Surely the only advantage of the phone is the ability to play games on the go? Unless your pockets are large enough for a controller too, it makes no sense.

Edit: Plus, reviews of Resident Evil Village on the iPhone said the controller experience was also a laggy mess when they tried it.

I don't know, I think if I was serious about playing AAA games on my phone I'd buy something like a Backbone One and move on with my life. I'm not even convinced that trying to include touchscreen controls is even the right approach for these kinds of games.

Surely the only phone games that will gain traction will be games that only require a phone to play them? Isn't that the problem? If game needs a magnifying lens and a controller, it probably shouldn't be released for a tiny screen.

Better late than never I guess. Strangely omitted is the fact that you need a controller to experience the game properly. Apple could make one. But the bigger gotcha is that the game is jank on iOS. Sad really it’s a great game and many plot beats cary over into Village, especially the ending of Village
