[RESOLVED in iOS 16.4] iPhone 14 Pro max lag when closing application (swipe up)

I also have this on my Phone. After a soft reset or a Reboot it's gone for about 1 hour. Yesterday i updated on 16.1.2 and thought till this morning it was gone, but i appeared 3 or 4 hour ago and now it's still there. Sometimes more, Sometimes less

So I also have this issue with the 14 Pro Max and spent a lot of time on a support call with Apple who by remoting my screen were able to see it. They spent time talking to others who confirmed its a known issue. This is the key bit ... he told me as its a UI issue and not security or functionality it will be low down the queue to fix and unlikely to be resolved anytime soon. I asked whether 16.2 and he said he couldn't see it in the change notes for the patch. This was a couple of weeks agao I had the call. I also suffer from the even bigger issue of text messages pinging at full volume in my ear when I am on a voice call which is another thread on this forum

I suspect that this is the most honest answer anyone has gotten from Apple on this. I think it is terrible to prioritize annoying UI issues so low because it directly affects user experience. And really, user experience is everything. It's like if I find typos or misspellings in an app, I will uninstall it and never look back. There is no excuse for sloppy work and if you do find it, you fix it ASAP.

Ok people, this is the definition of insanity, right? 😉 Keep trying the same thing expecting a different result.

16.2 beta 4 is out. Of course, the stutters will be gone initially, so let's not jump the gun like MacRumors! Sometimes they can take up to 2-3 days before returning after an update.

Here's to hoping they may actually be fixed this time! 🥂
 
I'm here for the "The stutter is gone" posts from people who install the latest beta, which does not fix it.
How many times are people going to post this when it's only because their phone restarted that the stutter has temporarily gone away.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Apple hasn't fixed it because they don't know how to fix it. We are stuck with it and its absolutely pathetic. What was once the smoothest OS on the planet has now become a jittery mess littered with constant bugs that never get fixed.

Apple fired an immediate update after the launch of IP14 series to solve the camera shaking issue if you remember & from my pov this was to save the IP14 reputation & the sales, otherwise they don't care, I believe they can solve the stuttering issue with sw update but the issue is not at their shortlist and not considering it for the time being and this is the main problem not the stutter!

I have a little speckle of hope because they fixed it in iOS 14.4 and it was perfect until 15 came out. Then they fixed it again. Seems like every major release causes it again, which further supports my theory that iOS is like a house of cards in serious need of a major overhaul.

All of you saying about stutters when closing apps, but anyone noticing stutters when open new/switching between tabs on Safari, swiping on recent open apps, swipe to widget screen on desktop, photos app, etc?

Just as I figured. It's cosmetic so it's been sent to the back burner.
 
As predicted, on 16.2b4, the stuttering started about 21 hours after the update. STILL NOT FIXED 😡

Also, the stupid square notification glitch still happens. Are they actually fixing anything or just working on new features?

As of now the viable solutions to eliminate the stutter is to reboot on daily basis or to manually kill the apps from the background, from my pov this points to ram management/cache software issue which is weird from ios as it's the main advantage over android phones!

It’s funny (not) when high demanding game (COD Mobile) works perfectly fine on a high graphics, but simple system animations in iOS lags… iPhone 12, iOS 16.1.2

Actually the easiest way to elimate it is to go into Accessability and turn on Reduce Motion. Instant no stutter but its an iphone experience I'm not used to and don't personally like but it was annoying me so much I ran with Reduce Motion for a while. Won't lie I have serioulsy considered returning my 14 Pro Max and insisting on a refund but highly doubt they would give me one.

I really can’t believe Apple can’t fix it. They should stop everything they’re doing, demonstrate a minimal respect to their customers and fix this. Apple is the androiding on us.

About the aesthetic question, Apple always emphasize their beautiful integration between hardware and software. It’s utterly unacceptable that Apple doesn’t consider this a priority question. The stutter makes us want to throw out iPhones in the trash.

They are too busy introducing new, sometimes flashy features that will add to the backlog of bugs when things go wrong, and get higher priority over existing issues. If this was a priority for Apple’s devs, it would have been fixed.
