Restore from iCloud or Clean Install

Been restoring since the 3GS days, have had every iPhone since then and have always restored from a backup.

Never had any issues at all myself, battery has always remained fantastic and the OS has been very stable and pretty much problem free.

I have so many games on mine that I would hate to reinstall from new as the majority I would loose the game saves, and thanks to Apple locking down the OS since around 8.3 I can't manually backup files from Windows anymore.

This always confused me... I realize you lose your text messages,but won't you get all your photos back if you are iCloud for photo backup? Maybe you (and others) are not syncing photos with iCloud?

You do have the pictures on iCloud but not on your phone. Which means if you wanted to edit or do something with it then you have to make a copy and edit it, which makes copy of the same picture multiple times.
