Most people can probably get most of what they want by setting up as new and just signing in to iCloud/iTunes/App Store. iCloud photos, contacts, notes, calendar, and messages would download. Redownload apps in the App Store.

Can't do the direct transfer because I turned my 10 X Max at Apple when I got my new 11 Max Pro.

Same here. They took phone and made me reset old phone before giving me chance to transfer. My music library wouldn’t restore with my iCloud backup so I’m starting new.

Mine has been stuck on the black Apple logo loading screen for over an hour. Do I let this continue? How do I abort and start over? None of the button combos is restarting it.

I restored mine at the Apple store when I did trade in it timed out a few times (guess multiple people were restoring at the same time at the store not to mention the activations :) It took a while but thankfully it went through

It took FOR. FREAKING. EVER. but it eventually happened. What sucked was that I went and grabbed my new iPhone on lunch break, getting me in the store and and holding the new phone was super quick, but I was trading in a previous phone and the associate insisted I pull the backup from iCloud and told me to wait until it's finished. A one hour lunch turned into a 2.5 hour lunch and the boss wasn't so happy.

Mine took about 20 minute to restore. Getting all my apps installed again took awhile but at least I could use my phone

If you have another iPhone just transfer directly from that, may be quicker as I’d imagine the iCloud servers are being used pretty heavily today.

I did the transfer (I wasn’t connected thru WiFi so I assume Bluetooth). It took about 4 hours and transferred roughly 400 gigs of data

Mine took a while too, and I had to do it twice - accidentally paired my AW4 before all of my apps had installed on the iPhone, so I quickly canceled - unfortunately it saved that AW configuration so when I re-paired a while later, none of my apps were there. So I re-restored the phone, waited for the apps to reinstall and THEN re-paired the AW. Worked perfectly.
