I keep around 30 Finder windows+tabs open with various projects in progress. For me they served as a queue of things that needed attention. For years, the windows were always restored on restart. Suddenly today, they did not.

The Go>Recent Folders menu is of no help. It only lists 10 of the most recent, which aren't the ones I keep open. Are there any cache/history/pref files I can look at to see what folders I had open a day or two ago?

You can create an Automator action (and save as an app or a Service) to open sets of folders. I don't know how it handles window positions.

Alternately, a script that opens Finder windows at specific positions is possible but not as simple.

It wouldn't surprise me if there's a third-party app that can handle window sets including position.

That doesn't really answer my question. I'm trying to recover the finder windows I had open a couple of days ago.
