Restored, updated and disabled iphone4

Ok. Got the 1600 errors to clear
Now I get to the snowbreeze screen (on the phone) and iTunes gives me an error 14....

You are going about this in the wrong way.

1. Snowbreeze does not work with 4.2.1
2. You cannot restore to custom IPSW 4.1 without SHSH files saved.

You best option is to restore to stock 4.2.1 again and then jailbreak with redsn0w, Select the hactivation option so that you can get access to the phone. Before you run the restore from apple
open tiny umbrella go to Advance mode and uncheck the box that says change host file to cydia on exit then close tiny umbrella. This will set your host file so that gs.apple.com is correctly point to the 127.x.x.x ip address.

After the Redsn0w jailbreak run the latest Greenpo1son which will make the redsn0w tether jailbreak untether.

You will still not be able to use the phone as a phone because no matter what you do at this time you cannot unlock. You have to wait for the new Ultrasn0w which hopefully should be out shortly.

did all that (minus the GP part) but it froze after Cydia installed, and i didnt have a Hacktivate option.

so after a few attempts, ive failed to get this thing working. Is there anything im doing wrong?

Would it help if i had a Iphone 3gs on 4.1 thats jailbroken?
Is there anything i can do for that to help?

I dont know how i did it, but i now have an Untetherd Jailbroken Iphone4....

It says is Version 4.1 but BB 3.10.01....

Is there anything that can be done to turn it into a phone yet?

nope no unlock and nobody knows when. best bet is to find out where your phone is locked. either get a sim from there and sell it to somebody in that area. Say sell it on Ebay US only if locked to AT&T then take the money from that buy a factory unlocked. then you never have to worry about it till you buy a new phone. you will also get more money for a factory unlocked phone.
