Same thing happened to me, but I'm not convinced this is the cause.

We'll know in 3 minutes when my new restore is done.

EDIT: The minutes left time in not accurate, still shows 3 minutes remaining but progress is continuing.

Let us know as I tried an earlier iCloud backup and that still didn't fix it. Any instructions will have to be in layman terms for me lol. Good luck

I broke the backup by deleting a file so it crashed the restore... this time I tried editing out the contents of the file using textedit so I'll know in a few minutes again when this attempt is done.

Nope -failure - although it might be because my backup is encrypted. Going to try editing a non-encrypted backup and cross my fingers.

I had the same issue restore as a "new" iphone from my MBP and didn't have cellular data, tried toggling LTE and Cellular on and off, then went to settings and restored all settings (didn't delete anything, except reset my preferences for some apps and settings)

once I rebooted, toggled on and off the LTE again and cellular data was there on the phone with no issues

it took a few extra minutes but i'm up and running with no issues

When you say it took a few minutes do you mean after you toggled the lte? Mine is still not working and the Apple boards are full of similar issues.

I ended up restoring my phone on iTunes and it works now. I can't restore from my backup though, which is extremely annoying...

At this point thinking a out just settingup as a new device. However does anyone have a link to how best to copy contacts from my iPhone to my PC and then back to my 'new device' setup iPhone without using backup and restore as its obviously not working for me.

I did this last night. I connected to itunes, fresh install of iO6 and activated as a new phone and still nothing.

Back on phone with ATT this morning and they are still "working on it"

This happened to my wife's phone. Switching from AT&T to Verizon I used an iCloud back-up. Everything seemed fine until we left the house and no data. Verizon thought it may have been a bad SIM card but had none to replace it with.

I restored the phone and set-up as new and data worked. Figuring I could now restore it again and set it up with her iCloud back-up I did so. Unfortunately, the problem came back so I restored again and set-up as new. All is well now but glad it didnt happen to my phone as I have stuff in my back-up I would hate to lose. She really only uses her phone for calling, texting, email, calendar, pinterest, safari, the camera and facebook so no biggie setting it up as new.

I have 5 years of text messages stored in this backup... to be honest I'm surprised it's worked this long without more serious issues considering the backup started with the first iPhone.

sorry for the delay just got home. Yep I toggled on and off on my LTE and Cellular then did an All Reset after and it came on

only took a few minutes I also read some people who continue to have problems after the settings reset fixed it by toggling the LTE and Cellular again
