downloaded it, it did nothing for me lol my all it does is make the screen brighter

I just went back to the stock LCD color, the one I calibrated was actually darker lol

yeah, i'm not a fan of apple's calibrating assistant. instead i just kept some film scenes i used as reference, and some photos of mine, while tweaking each setting. i got a result i was very pleased with this way.

for example, when i go to that site one of the posters here linked, i can see all the black/grey squares. the 1st one is dark, but distinguishable.

i would happily send you my calibration profile files. you can import them in your os x library folder and try it yourself, not sure how it will look on another /different model computer / screen. but could be worth an idea of what a screen looks like when blacks arent too deep.
