Retina icons for normal apps!!!

Woot! I have all my icons updated for the retina display, except Pandora and TomTom (it looks funny even when I resized it to 114x114).

Thank you! It was -57. It looks much better now.

Do you think we can replace jailbrake apps to retina also? Ones such as Rock, Rename and Respring?

The problem with replacing those is not having the original iTunes artwork to resize down to 114x114. If you have an icon you would like to use for them it's no problem to replace. You can find them in root/private/var/stash/applications (the "applications" shortcut in the root directory will take you right there)
 
For those asking about iPhone Browser, I couldn't get that to display the correct folders/images.

So I just used WinSCP to SSH into the iPhone instead.

This should probably be made a sticky with a detailed how-to guide, and the main zip file with all the icons.
 
When i copy the icon off the phone to edit it through SSH, the png icon file is just a all black image when i try to edit it. I also tried to edit the phone icon, and re-sized it to 114X114, and when i installed the theme and icons. the phone icon ended up being 2 times as big as the rest of the icons? What exactly am i doing wrong here.
 
Perhaps a dev could make a cydia app and database that searches installed.apps and replaces them with ones in the DB.

Yes that would be the organized and professional way to really have a product thread. And would save many from asking redundant questions.

And that's for the "HOW TO FOR DUMMIES" version, or ppl that are lazy. I don't mind the option mentioned above. A step by step prceedure and zip wit all icons in one.

Nah it would actually be a very efficient way, even a script that can convert the icon on phone for all apps would work nicely.

Everyone, this is amazing work. I'm about to dump my theme and go with these icons! I think I'll wait for the repository to grow while I'm working in Mexico this week, but I'm looking forward to dropping these on my phone!

There is no easy way to identify the apps via SSH than the letters and numbers... right?
 
^Yup. I just have everything opened up in iPhone Explorer to see the contents.

For the guys who linked me to that theme, that's not an iPhone theme. That's just a high res SBSettings theme. I'm looking for the iPhone theme:

If you have sbsettings installed you can go to: more > app folders. Find the app you want and it will tell you the name and location of the folder.
 
I added some to the others.... here is 193 ICONS

Mine are in folders (the app name) and have the icon properly named for upload.

scaling something to a larger size doesn't increase it's resolutions.. just makes your pixels twice as large, the phone scales them back down again so there's really no point unless you are scaling a larger image down, instead of a smaller image up
