Is it really so hard to understand what my question referred to?
Get a coffee.
Really, WTF is your problem? You troll this forum looking to argue because you don't like the rMB. You've been doing this for months now, and it's gotten beyond stupid. Seriously, explain to us WTF you're still doing here if you don't own, don't have any intention of owning, or even like the product?

what stuff?

rmb has a tiny display, is slow and has basically no ports.
Looks like cycledance is just another troll... reading his post history, looks like his only purpose is to insult people and products.

It honestly amazes me that people take the time to troll so hard. Like I barely take the time everyday to do simple things like clean the house or take out the trash. To type out long posts on the internet just to upset people? That's work. I'd rather be doing something else with my time. Guess they figure they don't have anything better to do in their lives

I'm also hoping to replace my 13" rMBP with the rMB. I was planning on waiting for v2 this year, but jumped on the recent Best Buy deal. I use my laptop to supplement a fully-loaded iMac 5K, which is my primary machine.
After using the rMB for since last weekend – exclusively for the first couple of days and then more recently switching between it and the rMBP – I've decided to stay with the rMBP and return the rMB.

As much as I want to like the rMB, it came down to the screen (I prefer the extra elbow room the 13" gives me), the keyboard (I strongly prefer the keyboard of the rMBP) and, strangely, the heft/stability of of the rMBP. As far as ease of transport, the rMB wins handily. But I actually find the rMBP to be more stable when used at my desk and when used on my lap (which is probably the majority of the time I use it when not traveling). I wasn't expecting this last point to be the case at all...

As a comp sci major, you don't find the screen a little too small to code on?

Actually, I thought about getting a sub-$100 IPS display just for the space because I found my 15 inch display to be small too, and a separate display would have been great for either my current 12" or 15" when it comes to medium size projects that requires me to be on Xcode, Sublime, Atom, etc at the same time.

Time to grow up. If some users/members have a different opinion you call them "trolls". It has been your personal, pathetic vendetta. And what do you call yourself? Nevermind, we have a name for you
What concerns my question in the post quoted.
Original post:
I haven't used thumb drives or SD cards for years.
And the question was:
You don't use a digital camera?
I think it is very easy to understand the correletation between the original statement and the question. And by the way, it has nothing to do with rMB.
You have become a king or represent a civil movement/group within MR?

To communicate properly, first you have to undertsand what others say. You failed in the latter, unlike the OP, who had no problem understanding my very easy question. And provided an answer.

Guys, life is incredibly short. Don't waste your precious moments arguing over, well, let's face it, a dead, never lived product. As a product, the MacBook is great. If it's not for you, move on and leave it. Apple makes billions of dollars, it's not interested in you lot, it wants to make money from selling a good set of products. If they were really honest, they'd make them to last 10 years or so, but with OS upgrades 3 is more like it before they slooooow down but hey... And the MacBook is that, a good product for many. Leave it at that. Don't argue over something so insignificant! Go play a sport :)

I have been using rmb for a week. Rmb can be my main and only computer. All i do is email, store my iphone photos, browse internet and watch movies. And, Yes, iPhone can probably handle most of them.

I think I understand those "troll"'s feel. Basically, they really like Apple and the idea of rmb where it is going. However, the product is holding them back because of something personal, such as often need to use USB port or require a faster processor for work purpose. They envy those able to use it daily because they cannot. They will feel better after mba had an upgrade :)

i use a 1.3 for 6 months as my only computer. That includes a VM on windows 10 to run a program that is windows only, handbrake, subbler, office, photos, ... no performance issue, love the weight and size (frequent traveller). i use one adapter to plug to power, USB and external display at home or at the office. i also own a DSLR: it is now equipped with a wifi SD card, and that fixes the need for any adapter...
It is a great laptop really.

Hi there it's excellent for video editing. I use a friend's new Gold MacBook 1.2 - using Final Cut Pro X is superb and no problem with 4K editing. It takes longer to export the file but that's it. Certainly, no stuttering or missed frames.

I plan on getting the new one in March and it'll certainly be my only computer :) I love it. 20 years of using Macs and this is my favourite :)
Perfect! Thanks! I purchased a used one off ebay for 800.00 this past week as a Christmas present to myself. Will be here tomorrow, excited to move over to this new device! :)

I am just wandering who else will be using their retina Macbook as their only/main computer/laptop.

I am in no way a professional user, I am a very casual user.
My workload is just streaming Spotify, streaming movies to my ATV3, webbrowsing, Mail, Calendar, very light photo editting (about 10 a month).

After a lot of consideration I decided to go this route as well and I'm glad I finally took the step. I'm coming from a maxed out 13" 2014 MBA (i7, 8GB ram, ...) and I was afraid the Core M would be a big step back, but it isn't. I do video editing (Final Cut Pro), a lot of 3D (Blender), some photo editing (Affinity Photo) and vector editing (Affinity Designer) and a lot of programming too. So far this 1.2 rMB does the job extremely well. Applications are generally launching faster than on the MBA. The only area where I can see the difference is on processor-intensive tasks like rendering. The Blenchmark BMW scene takes 8 minutes on the rMB and 6 minutes on the MBA, that's quite a difference. But I always render final scenes on a render farm so that's not that big of an issue for me.

Once you got your hands on a rMB, the MBA feels clunky. I'm in love with the new keyboard, the screen, the trackpad and the sound is amazing compared to the Air. Only the camera is really, really bad.

For your needs the rMB is more than powerful enough. I would just go for it ;)

It's very possible to have the rMB as my main computer but I still have the 2013 15-Inch MBP as my desktop device because
  1. It still works great and has excellent performance
  2. Too much effort plugging and removing the dongle when I need to take the laptop on the go
Other than that, I have taken the rMB all over the country for work doing spreadsheets, running reports, editing photos, watching movies, etc and ironically the MBP at home is mainly used for websurfing, posting on forums and social media :p
