Absolutely love my 13"! My second Mac, coming from an '11 Air and this feels snappier. Gorgeous screen, fantastic build quality - a piece of very fine engineering.:apple:

:p
I asked as i have a 15" refurb 2 days old that gets hot back of keyboard, mainly with video or when i was transferring iPhoto and files. Not sure if to swap for a 13"

i have the rmbp 13. the palmrest and keyboard gets warm but not 'hot'?

good to hear that your not having any lag issues especially on chrome. you can try to download safari webkit and compare it with chrome. see if there really is no scrolling lag especially on facebook and other heavy loaded websites. you can also try to set your display to 1440x900. open facebook on safari fullscreen and compare you HQ photos with chrome. cause mine when set to 1440x900, photos are as sharp as i would want to them be(SAFARI). just like how i edited them. but again only in safari and not on chrome which is my main browser as well

1440x900 is what I run as 1280x800 is kinda too low for me. I just tested facebook and theverge on both res and can't see any difference at the moment.
Are you fully up to date with software etc?

I have both the 13" & 15". After Apple issued the latest update the 15 runs cool & quiet. I greatly prefer the 15. It's slightly larger footprint is barely noticeable. The extra screen size is more than worth it. The difference in weight is negated as its spread out over the slightly wider, deeper case. It's the best MBPr yet.

Initially I was after the 15" due to better specs but I got a very good deal on a new 13" on eBay and decided to go for it.

When used for anything other than light work, running hot, really hot is a hallmark of Apples laptops.

Cosmetic styling & ultra thin housings that heavily restrict cool air flow is how you know you have a genuine Apple laptop.

Hot enough to nearly burn you, the aluminum is Apples choice. :)

Almost all laptops run hot - it's whether the CPU clocks down that tells you if the machine is not dispersing the heat enough.

aside from the scrolling lag issue(chrome) and the vertical lines i get on the screen because of the lag i think this is the perfect laptop for now for non gamers. i noticed that facebook photos looks pixelated on chrome, safari webkit especially on best retina display setting. best display setting i think is 1440x900. fb photos are now sharp but only on safari native app fullscreen. still not on chrome and webkit.

I have to vouch for the scrolling lag on Chrome. Can't say I've tried it on a 13'' rMBP or a '13 model, but on my 2012 rMBP the text and images are absolutely more choppy-looking when I'm scrolling versus on my Air. It's gotten much, much better with all the software updates, etc., but it's definitely still there just a bit. I've found that Safari scrolls just as poorly, so maybe the issue is the GPU's ability to push all those pixels so quickly.

i have locked my decision on rmbp 15,in term of specs (i want decent gaming sometimes), but after see and try myself , both 13 and 15 at the store, i tend to stay use the 13. i dont know why, the 13 its just look so awesome. the combination of portability, build quality, and the retina screen its so tempting. now im back to the bridge between the two.

Last Saturday I noticed a particle inside the screen. Looked like a black spot.

I took the laptop to Apple and they got the screen replaced in 2 days.

Very satisfied with the support.
