6 hours later the battery lost 2%. Still a lot more than a 13" rMBP I had from what I remember.

Looking at the logs, it got rid of the RTC wakes every two hours. At 3hrs on the dot, it woke itself up briefly to put itself into deep sleep at the default 10800 seconds (3hrs). I'm going to change that back to a shorter interval with the addition of turning the wifi off, and see if it goes into deep sleep at the interval I specify.

I guess I'll go ahead and make use of that script to turn the wifi off and on.

OK from 4PM yesterday to this morning 7:30AM, it dropped 2% which is much better. Not sure it had to do with it, but I set standbydelay to 1200 (20 minutes). There was still one wake by RTC alarm at 4AM. This was with wifi off. This is an acceptable workaround for me. The issue of my monitor locking up is probably not going to be resolved though..

Is all very much router & network related, may be well worthwhile look at the routers support pages and see if there are any firmware updates available. Really Apple should take action, equally this has been going on for a good while so don't expect too much anytime soon.

Right now the simplest fix for many is to close the WiFi prior to the Mac sleeping. That said, this is not what we are paying for, given the premium status. Sadly Apple does have a propensity to ignore such issues until they see fit to resolve, an aspect of their corporate hubris I certainly don't care for...
