Trust me, i've been using mine for about 4 hours and if I noticed ANY lag it would be on it's way back.

None.

Then again, 4 hours is 4 hours.

I wonder how many hours Vergie used his. 10 minutes? :D

Anyway, i love these sky-falling posts. Nothin like a little drama (that is, assuming you don't have some hysterical female around you 24/7) :D
Oh My God it's VergeGate

We have SwipeGate too

Yup. But it gets even better. You can reduce the choppiness in the UI transitions to zero if you swipe in a certain fashion. Basically, if you swipe in a slow, delicate, and effeminate manner, your UI transitions will be jaggy. That will also happen if you swipe too hard like a "real man". But if you apply moderate pressure and make large and rapid movements, your transitions won't show any choppiness at all. This is why I never saw the UI choppy transitions before I started to look for them (people here were really insisting so much). Bottom line: I simply don't swipe like most other people.

So we now have SwipeGate to add to the list. There are those who know how to swipe the rMBP and those who don't. It's a fine art. Why buy a stradivarius if you don't know how to use it? :D

Oh wow, you are right! Who knew???

I guess some can play and some are just posers...:p

If you are a developer I'm Steve Jobs Jr.
Plus your belligerent tone and condescending tone make me think more likely you are a 15 year old posting from your parents basement.

This is my last response on the subject. It's obvious you can't accept any opinion besides your own so anybody that says anything that contradicts it must be full of BS.

Whatever dude, life is too short

In other words you tried my test, discovered you were wrong and resorted to cheap insults. Not surprised at all.

um it scrolls fine on my 2008 macbook.

it also depends on what browser you're using. unfortunately the only one really speedy on the RMBP is safari. chrome is definitely slower.

utter BS. heres my connection right now on a business connection at work.

sites that are generally heavy in JS and images are definitely noticably laggy on my rmbp. meanwhile, they scroll fine on my 2008 macbook.

Testing this in chrome: http://www.ebay.com/new on my rmbp clearly shows lag and slowdown. If i drag it over to my external monitor, its much smoother.

Can you make a video to show? It would be extremely helpful. Thanks.

The Verge website lags on my 2009 iMac, it seems they have almost 6mb of images and around 1mb of JavaScript which is most likely the issue here, most other websites are fine for me.

Did you look at your CPU usage while scrolling on eBay? On my early 2009 macbook pro, Safari uses 70% of my CPU while scrolling... it drops when I stop scrolling. No difference when using the integrated 9400m vs the discrete 9600mgt.

On my rMBP 13", performance was about the same; 50-60% cpu, and about the same amount of lag as my 2009 machine. But, there's 4X as many pixels to push.

This has nothing to do with the GPU, and everything to do with using Javascript to render the page animations. There are those neat sliding windows that show the static images beneath them-- THAT is why it's slow.

The lag on eBay's site is eBay's fault-- it's not optimized at all for higher resolutions.

Well the verge makes my work pc lock up every time I just visit it.

but get the 15" anyways because of the quad core, more ssd space, and dedicated gpu for only a little more. The 13" just doesn't make sense

The Verge works perfectly on my late 08 MacBook and on windows 8 in freakin IE 10. Intel HD 4000 graphics.... 2560-by-1600 resolution. Enough said on this subject.

You're clearly knowledgeable... please, amaze us again!
HD4000 is fine... HD3000 was pushing at least the same amount on external monitors without any problems.
One of the things Apple needs to optimize is the scaling done by the OS.

Its fine for driving hi-res displays, but how is it for doing anything else at extremely high resolutions? Not so good...

I agree...the Mbp used to always be discrete while the mb and ib (now MBA) were budget. Apple is cutting corners because they are simply selling enough units.

My main desktop is and hd4000 so I know it's good enough, but hardly "PRO"
