Apple doesn't recommend you put anything between the keyboard and screen when the retina MBP is closed.

To resolve this thread, I opened up my macbook just a moment ago before calling it a night and booted up to see no finger marks on the screen that I saw previously. Deciding to keep the cloth away when mac not in use so thanks to all who helped me out.

No, not on any of my apple products but this is the first mac i've owned and Ive already had it replaced the day after I got it due to dead pixels.

Plus im paranoid as i've spent a lot on the mac itself.

If anything, placing something in between the screen and the keyboard could possibly do some damage. I'd definitely advise against doing this.

The tolerances are so tight, adding anything in-between the screen and keyboard is going to cause issues. I'm glad this worked out for you
