the one you bought was exchanged at Apple. Apple has the item now that you bought from Best Buy. i'm not mad, just get tired of seeing these kinda threads.

So your tired about seeing my question, or the fact that I wanted to return the iPad? I searched on Google and didn't find an answer to my question, which is why I posted it. Even the girl on the phone at Best Buy thought I would be able to exchange it until the manager told her no. And if your tired about seeing threads complaining, leave... No one made you forum police, you can't censor people, and your opinion isn't more valid than anyone else's, ok?

There is nothing worse than "why can't you be satisfied" guy. ... if you are willing to accept mediocrity, so be it ... you come off as a holier than thou righteous jerk

Pot, meet Kettle. Just my $0.02 but you don't do anyone any favors if you act like the same type of person you're complaining about.

I bought my iPad in November at Best Buy and had to exchange it at the Apple store due to tint issues...but now I just had an entire row of pixels die, and I am sick of doing multiple returns of every Apple product so I want to just refund it... But will BB take it back even though it was exchanged? The serial won't match the box

Not the one you bought from them so no they won't. Plus you are likely way past the return period.

----------

I'm not blaming them because I couldn't refund the air, I shouldn't have to go to the apple store to return 2 iphones 3 times each, an ipad mini , and ipad 3 4 times, and then the air three times all for blatant screen defects, thats time out of my day and I'm pretty sick of it

And yet you keep buying. Seems like your feeling is that Apple stuff is crap which is why you want this refund.

But you kept buying things. When a logical person wouldn't have gotten as far as buying the Air, if anything else, and would have simply returned the first one and walked away from the company all together. Fool me once and all that

Time for you to stop buying Apple.

I have never had to make any returns. You're being too critical.

I think what is irking a lot of people is the OP's overall tone of entitlement.

I think it is great that Apple exchanges items, and I think it is the customer's right to expect a product that meets there expectations, which is the purpose of Apple's Advertising, to create a flawless company image. And when it doesnt reach that point, then people are annoyed and angry.

However, this only happens with Apple, because like many have said, if this was Samsung, I would have had an issue with my phone, send it off to warranty and be without a phone for 1-2 weeks. So I would ONLY do this when the phone is absolutely unusable, due to the consequences of trying to get a perfect device.

The argument "I paid xxx for this, I expect a flawless product" is valid, but I challenge you to find any other company/product you can complain like this. My friend bought a new BMW X5, he is on his 5th warranty repair due to unknown computer issues, how far do you think he would get if he is asking for a new car completely?

Depending on your friends state... chances are pretty high if he has a lemon......http://www.dmv.org/automotive-law/lemon-law.php

Actually your friend should negotiate with the dealer about getting a replacement car to for free under lemon laws.

It is however a lot of work, requires some documentation and approval from BMWNA, but it's doable and totally in the scope of possibilities.

Thats what I said, however, this is when shadyness comes in. It doesnt qualify under lemon law, because everytime he goes in, they claim it is something different and 'fix it under warranty'. And off he goes. But its his car so I dont know the details and the specific conditions.

Entitlement... are you kidding me? I just want products without defective screens (or nicked bezels out of the box, or a freaking pebble in the camera lens for example), is that so much to ask for? I appreciate that I can exchange the product if it's messed up, but I don't have this problem with any other brand of gadget.

And to those saying stop buying Apple products then, I am... the Air will probably be my last as Apple's QC is lacking.

You must literally have the world's worst luck or regularly throw your equipment at brick walls.

I've never heard of that kind of return rate for one person. Not saying it isn't true, but all those returns suggests there is something wrong.

This may be due to the amount of Apple products you buy when compared to other brands.

I have bought an equal number of Samsung products, all perfect

Not just me, my family members products were included in those

Interesting. Because my family has had 6 iphones, and I've personally bought 4. Not one return for defects. I did notice something on my iPhone 3gs when I bought it, and the Apple store salesperson suggested I report it to Apple since they like to capture early production examples like that but it was a very minor cosmetic thing that obviously had zero effect on the phone, since I used it without problems for 2 years.

Again, not doubting your story, but it suggests you either are way too picky or don't take care of your devices. Or have the worlds worst luck. Sounds like you have a near 100% defect/return rate. I don't know how that happens when from what I hear the iPhone and iPad have around a 1-5% defect rate.

The other option is that Apple has terrible quality control, or that you don't have a keen eye for defects. I baby all of my devices, and there is no amount of roughhousing on my part that can transform a screen from uniform to rainbow. Look at how many people of this board are having issues, I am not sure why this comes as a surprise.

All perfect...or maybe you weren't on a forum that instructs people how to actively look for defects.

Well I am on my 3rd iPad air myself because of dust under the screen and my current one does but I'm done with returning since I don't mind it and not worth the trouble. I also owned a samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket, s3, and s4 and none of them had any problems with dust or anything

----------

The funny thing is Samsung makes a lot of the screens for Apple.

They make the LCD that's it ....the glass and digitizer and how it is put on top of the LCD isn't done by samsung :)

I'm not trying to start a Samsung vs. Apple debate. Simply pointing out that the OP has found an answer to his issue.

I'm just stating that from my past experience as well Apple does have issues with qc. My iPhone 3GS I found a ton of dust under my screen about a month after I bought it. My iPhone 4 on the other hand I didn't have that issue but other issues like the speaker dying about a day after I got it

I never disputed that Apple has issue with QC. I have had three power buttons stop working (iPhone 4 and 5(x2)), I had a dead pixel on my 3rd gen iPad and I had a yellow screen on my first iPad Air.

I have also bought products from other companies that have issues right out of the box.

It happens. I exchange if I need to and I move on. :)
