iPod Touch has two memory slots, the iPhone one. The 16GB Touch is no indication of a 16GB iPhone.

Well, yeah, that's possible. Maybe to help with economies of scale, however I suspect 2x8 is cheaper than 1x16 still.

True enough, but a slightly higher price point for a 16GB iPhone would account for the higher cost of the flash.

Maybe Apple will re-price the 8GB iPhone to $379 and offer the new 16GB iPhone for $449. Or something like that. What the hell do I know?
