Someone please help me understand something, I own a 2012 MBA loaded it runs flash storage and is lightening fast! I was seriously thinking about switching to the RMBP13 cause the screen is beautiful but this lag thing is like an issue on every site, what is causing this and is there a fix? should I even consider it or stay put?

I'm using mine only on "Best for Retina" resolution and am experiencing 0 lag.
People like to blow things out of proportion and nitpick...

How long does your MBA take to boot up? :D

Who even boots up. My retina has an uptime of 17 days now, runs like on its first day. There is somewhat choppy scrolling soooometimes, on image heavy websites, but other than that it's perfectly fine. I don't know if I would've noticed it if I hadn't read about it here.

That's what the $20 thunderbolt to GigE adapter is for.

First, it's $29, not "$20."

Second, it defeats the point of having an all-in-one laptop.

As I said, nice screen, shame about what you get and don't get otherwise.

$29 list. I paid $20 for mine which is why I quoted that price. Not my fault you can't shop :)

the whole "all in one device" is just BS. I need ethernet only at work. I leave the dongle attached to the end of the ethernet cable. Problem solved.

For whatever reason you returned it, that's fine. We just don't all buy your justification.

At an Apple store? Of course not.

So someone should spend an $2200 on a computer and then have to spend another $29 on top of that to do something another model already has?

Perhaps when you understand the necessity of real network security you'll rethink that . . .
