Not that the members here are representative of the total amount of iPhone owners in the world but the poll here indicated it was almost 50% of users who had the issues. Also the issue is happening worldwide. Your number of less than 1% is way off base.

A poll on a forum, where likely anyone who has a problem will go?

I would be willing to guess the issue affects between 1-5% of iPhone 4 users, and probably 1-5% of iPhone 3GS users. Personally, I know atleast 7 people who own the phone in real life, and none have had any complaints.

Not to hijack a thread, but I wish a person like the OP would offer to sell the bumpers--I finally gave in and ordered through Apple and it's on its way from China, to be here next week.

Now I'm not interested in paying a premium or anything, but certainly $30 plus tax and shipping.

And I live in DFW where there are two Apple Stores near me (less than 4 miles from each other). You'd think bumpers would be in stock. No.

Always the problem with supply and demand--those that want one cannot get one in store, and those that have them don't want them. :D

If the issue were really that small, close to 1%, then I would say it is a hardware issue and I should be able to keep exchanging the phone over and over and eventually get one with no issue. The fact that every person I've read who has returned the phone and exchanged it or were mailed a replacement have had the same issue, leads me to believe it has to be a little more widespread than that.

The phone should have worked correctly from day one

At least somebody has some common sense on here. Of course new products are gonna have some bugs but when the company who produces the bugged out product tells it loyal customers to basically "Deal with it" that's when **** gets crazy.

Agreed with this guy 100%.

I'm an apple customer like everyone else on here and I disagree that Apple (or any company) should be given leeway on fixing this issue--I voted with my $ and Apple lost two iPhone 4 sales. It's not like bad screens or scratched glass....it's that the phone doesn't work and drops calls--it's on every news station and was a headline on CNN the other day.

Of course everyone has their opinion and not all are going to mesh but the customer-bashing on behalf of Apple is asinine.

Do you believe everything you hear and read?
