What convinced you it has been fixed? I did read some blogs, but thought it was still being carried through by Apple and it would take a little bit more time to redesign the weak spot. This is why I haven't made the purchase. I actually want a 6. I initially wanted a 6+, but it's not portable for me.
We will find out in a few days or weeks when ifix it does a new tear down.

Um...Apples has not have silently fixed the issue. I've read some blogs about it as well but nobody has confirmed about it yet. There is no truth about it.
Taken from BGR:
Just and FYI even the iphone 6 4.7" can bend as well (I've seen someone at the Apple store with a bent 6).
Yes I am aware that both models can bend. I am extremely happy with the 6+
From what I've seen, resetting your eligibility can take minutes, hours and even longer
The reset took a few seconds
Usually it will just take a couple of minutes. USUALLY.. But like others have said it could take longer.
It was as quick as 1, 2, 3

For anyone wondering the process, this is how I went for me.
I informed the Apple tech with the iPad that I wanted to exchange my 6 for 6+. He asked me which model I wanted and made a reservation for me.
I waited around until someone came to me, they asked what it was that I wanted to do. They scanned my iPhone 6 and started the process. Someone brought out my 6+ and he basically just went through the same process as if I was no purchasing again, within a few seconds it was done.
There was no refund, no gift card, none of that. Since my phones were the same price, it was a straight exchange. Literally handed my old phone in, they gave me the 6+ and walked back out.
The longest part was waiting.
