Hey, guys! I am curious to see if anyone has done this. Let me explain what happened.

I purchased an iPhone 4S on the 14th, then a week and a half later, exchanged it for a Galaxy S2. I encountered some problems with the S2, with the phone functionality not working on it, so I swap it out for another S2. Now, I am having problems with this S2 battery life. Would AT&T allow me to exchange my phone for an iPhone 4S, or am I pretty much stuck with the S2? If I'm not mistaken, you can only do one exchange (for another) phone within the 30 days. I have done that, by going from 4S to S2. Do they allow customers to do it again?

Thanks!

Depends on who you work with. If you go in to AT&T and explain your situation kindly, they may let you swap (pay the restocking fee). If you go in there like a raging prick, they may tell you to GTFO and EAD. Be prepared though, you could end up with a iP4S with battery issues as well (take a look around). Putting you back into square one.

Thanks for the response. If all fails, I guess I can sell my S2 and pay for the 4S outright. Are we able to do this now? Or is the only in Novemeber?

The guy I spoke with at my local AT&T corporate store said I would be able to go back to my S2 if I didn't like the 4s (if I wanted to try it), just pay the restocking fee.

Ah, so you went from G2 to 4S?

Noooooo, I'm not getting rid of the S2, but I posed the question to him if curiosity should bite me in the ass about the 4s.

If you're having problems with the S2 battery, mine is excellent, you can download Juice Defender on the market and it will help extend it.

I thought in my post--you can find the link below--you were choosing SGSII over iP4S?

At that point I had 65% battery left.

I was, until I having problems with the G2. My 4S battery was much better than the G2. I turn off the widgets, turned down brightness, etc., plus my G2 isn't holding a charge. Two defective S2's over a course of one week = time to go back to iPhone. Its a great phone, if you can find one that works.

Nice @ Boxer. Thats pretty good. I just downloaded it. I am going to give it a try.

You can set it to aggressive and it won't affect the way your phone performs.

Let us know what you finally decide to do. I'm still up-in-the-air about whether to keep or return my 4S for a SGSII.

Looking at the bottom graph, it looks like you basically didn't use it. :p

I don't game on my phone, I use it for correspondence mainly. So those little blue ticks throughout the day when the phone is awake and the screen is on are texts, emails, check a sports score, ect. The solid awake at the end was me using the stop watch for my workout (1hr 15min).

Damn, those screenshots are ugly

How's that? :p

I guess now that we're on the subject of android; is rooting difficult? and how reliable is a rooted device?

Well I would try to go to the AT&T store, tell them you know what I have to use this phone for the next 2 years till my contract is over , and I'm sorry about the inconvenience and be really nice about it , my friend was able to pull the off lol , he play with 3 different phones in a month tho

I called a store to see if they can do anything.

Basically what the guy told me is that I am only allowed one exchange within 30 days and that I have already used it up, so I cannot return it back to the 4S.

As figures. I guess I have no one to blame but myself.

Try a different store, go into the store if possible. People are more apt to take a harder line over the phone.

Honestly, I think if you go in person and just be humble, they'll do you the favor of exchanging the device.. Of course for a small price, $35 restocking fee.

I know when I asked this question to the rep, he basically told me I could exchange it as long as the $35 fee is paid.

Agreed. The whole UI on the S2 looks ugly from what I've seen on YouTube videos

I don't know about that.. I've seen the phone in person and the dark theme is really nice.

The fact that you can control the UI is one of the reason why I thought about switching.
