Agreed. The whole UI on the S2 looks ugly from what I've seen on YouTube videos

Absolutely, the live wallpapers are god awful compared to the 16 tiles of apps on every page you get to stare at. lol

Nexus devices get constant updates.

The UI looks a lot better in person. Its a very nice phone. The Nexus S and the S2 are probably getting ICS. You can get it on the Nexus S now, if you install the custom ROM for it...the S2 should be getting it soon...through rooting...Samsung will wait months to officially release it.

lol. Hey, I miss my little square boxes.

Think about future updates too, android devices suck at updates (I had one for a year and half and multiple devices too, no only one

Good stuff.

How difficult is it to root a device?

At that point I had 65% battery left.

The screen on time is probably an hour. You know, the time you actually do interact with your phone. This is what pisses me off about mine too and i want to get rid of it for a Lumia or 4/4S.

If i wanted a passive information manager I would have picked a blackberry. I picked the S2 so I could use that big screen, not to keep it off.

Pretty easy. It takes like 10 seconds. Press the button, once the software is downloaded onto your computer and BAM, thats it.

More than an hour, it was on the entire time running the stop watch for my workout and that was 1hr 15min.

Yeah that is my issue with it. A bit more than an hour of playing with it and the battery is already 68% on mine. Still not getting used to this. Ugh.

Really though, battery technology and capacity is taking a back seat in the rush to produce slimmer, bigger devices. If you are putting a 4.5 inch in there at least put a bigger battery. Make it 11-12 mm thick for all i care. I don't wear skinny pants so i don't need skinny devices.

iPhone 4s is BORING! Every iPhone is the same. Two and half years after buying my 3gs and the only improvements are a better screen, better camera and faster processer, seriously? Oh and Siri, still in beta so i wont knock all the problems im having with that yet. Two and a half years and that's the extent of their innovation ?

Apple is getting stale, It just works is just not enough anymore. I'm so tired of the same old thing. I've had my 4s for four days and it has zero wow factor to me.

I never thought I'd say this but I've got to at least give Android a try. I may not like it but at least I won't second guess my decision to stay with the same old thing. GS2 here I come.

I feel the same way but r.j.s (macrumor user) brought this to my attention;

"Apps for iOS are built for a specific set of hardware configurations, while android apps have to support a wide variety of different hardware configs, and even screen resolutions, so many apps have an almost unfinished look to them."

And it's the one reason why I think I'm going to stay put with my 4S. But, I'm still under my 30 days so that might change with the right convincing.

You will love the S2, just may have to go through 1 or 2 for a good one; nevertheless, its a great device. Best Android device out right now.

Lol, you guys need to give me your 4S then. Just kidding.

Actually it depends on what device you have , and is nothing like jail braking that's for sure , there is no cydia is mostly zip tweaks that you flash(run?) on recovery mode or a whole rom(is the OS modified even to UI ) look for MIUI in YouTube and you will see this cool rom the looks like iOS mix with android :) really nice too

I got a GS2 last Saturday and never looked back. I love Apple, had every iPhone including the 4S. But I needed a change in phones. The GS2 is great replacement to the iPhone until next year.

Can't wait to put Ice Cream Sandwich on it too :D

Pretty sure there will be extended batteries for the SII, obviously with apple you get what you get.

Yes I understand that and it makes sense but there are only a few apps that I use on a regular basis. Urbanspoon, Sportacular, Groupon, Facebook, Flixster are fine on Droid. At least the Droids I've seen anyway. If I don't try the S2 I'll be wondering for a year if I should have. I will keep my 4s and compare the two for the next 25 days. Then I can make an informed decision, and return the other.

If you don't mind, keep us posted and let us know what phone you decided on.

Thanks for the suggestion about Juice Defender.

Update: I went in a store and was able to return the S2 and order a 4S. It will take 2-3 weeks, but hey, if that means I'm getting a reliable phone, then I will kindly wait for it.

That phone battery had to have been defective or something. Horrendous battery life on my S2.

As I stated earlier, if you can find a good fully functional S2, then it is a great phone.

Thanks, guys!

My SG2's battery lasts all day. With Bluetooth and WiFi always on.

Returning my S2 today and getting an 4S. I dont have to pay a restocking fee because my screen is defective :)

If there is an issue with the phone talk to AT&T, if they will not help then return it under your 30 Days as a defective unit, then purchase the 4S again.

I would go with trying to work it out with AT&T they are usaully reasonable about things from my experienc.

Right. The manager at my AT&T told me that I could Order the iphone 4S... before I had to return my S2 and let me keep the S2 until the 4S came in.
