They were all new stock. Apparently the BEST one (iPhone 7 256GB Flat Black) is available all over. ;)

As I stated earlier, I just want one defect free phone.

I guess you're lucky it wasn't a jet black then. ;)

You do seem to have had quite the run of bad luck in getting a phone you're happy with. Glad you found one that works for you.

I hate threads like this because it just makes me get out my iPhone 6 and compare the two screens (which never occurred to me to do in the first place), then I notice the iPhone 6 screen IS whiter than the 7 Plus screen and the 7 Plus is no brighter. Does it bother me? Not really, but it is a bummer since the 7 was advertised has having much better color capability than the 6. How can they lie about these things and get away with it?

Fortunately, I have no diagonal lines and so far no recurring BT issues (I did have some scratchy sound in my headset once). It seems to me the front-facing speaker is much more trebly than the bottom-facing one which sounds more bass-y. When I turn up music to the loudest I would consider listening to, it sounded fine (not great...that's what my big portable BT speaker is for!).

iOS 10 is a train wreck (for many people) because Apple wants it to be.
The last thing Apple wants is a perfectly satisfied customer. It's a fine line they play between satisfaction and irritation.
A little of both to keep us always hungry for something better. ... That will never quell our appetites.

Everyone has these grand illusions that the next iPhone 8 & iOS 11 is going to be the great savior.

Ain't gunna happen.
The combo is guaranteed to be filled with bugs galore
Yeah...that's not how it works.

I also went back to 6s, all the phones I tried gave me white noise on camera. Really I see not too much difference between 6s and 7. Even if Appple fixes hiss/buzz noise problem I really doubt I buy 7.

I don't know what you all are talking about but mine sounds perfect, screen is amazing, it's brighter than my 6s, not yellow.....

#firstworldproblems I guess...

Yeah, it seems to be not much better in day-to-day use over a 6S. It's a pretty big step from a 6, for the memory alone.

I only got it because it's free to me with trade-in, so it makes sense.

Lol. It isn't. Ignorance is bliss. I genuinely wish I didn't notice defects so easily.

I really think the issue here is the OP has a much higher standard for certain details which probably 99% of other people could care less about. It's not right or wrong, but it is what it is. Honestly OP if you feel your 6 is superior to the 7 then use the 6, however I think most would agree it's irresponsible, immature, and honestly unnecessary to swap anymore phones than you already have as clearly the iPhone 7, as it currently stands, doesn't meet your perceived expectation of quality.

I'm loving my 7, am super satisfied with the upgrades this model presents. Aside from the reported-on Bluetooth and VZW connectivity issues, I have no qualms with the device. I also fully expect those issues to be remedied in a software update before late October arrives.

Oh your exactly right and I wouldn't argue otherwise.

I already stated that once I realized the crappy top speaker was systemic in every iPhone 7, I decided to keep the 7 (even though it meant I to completely alter my use of media, namely no more speakerphone or podcasts) because the benefit of no more memory reloads outweighed my negatives.

The problem was the 7 I had when I realized the top speaker was garbage had a dead pixel. So I needed to swap it once more. Just my luck the one they gave me had a screen scratch (wasn't even turned on and I never left the store) to it needed another.

Even if I had the knowledge I have now with the first iPhone 7 I got, I still would have needed this many replacements to resolve the other diagonal lines on screen issue.

The difference is, had I known all this BEFORE I preordered the 7, I wouldn't have. Now that I'm here and have an 'acceptable' 7, I'll keep it.

If Apple's CEO is going to get on stage and grandstand over features that 99% of users will not notice (Wide Color Gamut, for one example) pardon me if I hold them to it.

i noticed it right away. came from a 6 plus. you may need to get your eyes checked. the display is warmer and has more color depth. if you like the blue point then stick with your 6. i personally like the higher brightness and wider color gamut.

Just curious what can I display on an iPhone 6 and an iPhone 7 side-by-side that will WOW me by this "wider color gamut"? Is there a sample photo that shows just how great the new screen is over the 6-series?

I could tell just from looking at the home screen with icons. The colors are not over-saturated (crushed), and you see more detail in the colors. at first i noticed the same thing as many others have noticed, the iphone 7 is warmer (more yellow), but you need to adjust to that, as it is giving a more accurate representation of colors on your phone. this is a boon for photographers where color detail is important.

I have a Spyder5Pro calibration device that I use to setup profiles for my monitors (desktop monitor, MBP display, etc), and after calibration the display is more 'yellow,' but when looking at images the colors have WAY more detail.

Heck even TV manufacturers know about this, so when setting up TV's at an electronics store there is a DEMO mode and the whites have a more blue-point look than accurate colors. Amateurs will see a TV that looks way-oversaturated and think it's better. Sammy does this with their own displays to make colors 'pop' but you're losing so much more detail by doing this. Give that same TV to a colorist or cinematographer and he'll vomit.

You could go out and buy some very expensive test equipment or you can read about it from people with that capability to do the analysis...

But hey if your taste isn't in accuracy - and that's no slight on you - then you probably should stick with the 6 if the color is more to your tastes. Bottom line - the 7 is superior, but not everyone may like more accurate colors... certainly there's a tendency to oversaturate displays vs. go for color accuracy in some other phones.

Most give Apple a pass? Please. This board is basically composed entirely of people complaining about Apple.

No, the real issue is that people give neurotic snowflakes like you a pass. You're downright obsessive, and need actual help.

If anyone should be mad at Apple, they should be mad that they tolerate nuts like you going in to swap phones a dozen times over some fictional issue.

When you go through that many phones and every one has issues? The problem isn't with the phones, it's in your own head.
Last year or the year before wasn't Apple marking people's account and not letting them exchange anymore? Due to over exchanging. If they did, I think they need to do it this year.

A phone that cost €750-1100 i would except it to be flawless, for sure without any dead pixels, faint colors, lines or bad sound quality.

The memory is a bit step over the 6, but for day to day usage older phones can be sufficient as well (many people still using 5s and older phones).
