Simply because of the large display. Since Apple pushed the display as far to the edges as possible without reconfiguring the UI, all the buttons are right on the edge of the display as well. After three days of inadvertently turning off alarms and dismissing notifications, I've had enough. Plus, too often some element is under the curved part of the glass, making it difficult to see on an angle. Apparently margins are useful. Someone should tell Apple.

And yeah, the battery life is really no better than the watch it replaced, an old series 4.

I've ordered an open box series 6 from Best Buy, and I think that's going to be a better choice. I'll save a hundred plus as well.

Sorry you're not happy .... I came from a Series 4 and experience none of the UI pains you appear to be suffering from

This is what resonated with me. While I’m not returning S7, the battery life does seem very similar if only slightly better than my previous S4. I think where it makes up for this is the fast charging.
That's a little surprising to hear, as I noticed a marked improvement in battery life when I went from S4 to S6. Are you using the always on display?

I charge my watch every night when I sleep and it always lasts the day. If they made the battery last 2 or 3 days I’d either still charge it every night…or I’d forget to charge it at all. There’s no benefit to me in increasing the battery life really

While agree with all your points as it would probably be the same for me, the extended battery life would be nice just in case. For those heavy usage days. :)

Seeing some of the videos, it looks like the glare might be more of an issue since the screen gets so close to the curved edge now. My Series 5 always had glare but it wasn't an issue since there's usually nothing displayed under those curves.

As of now yes. Many in other threads with S5/S6 say it’s not a battery drain. I will turn it off Friday after a week with it on to gauge any change next week. Maybe a watch face with less complications would help/turning off background app refresh?

Because it's a forum where people are free to share their thoughts and experience on their purchase? You're not forced to read the thread lol
I didn't say people weren't free to discuss. The OP didn't ask any questions. All he did was rant. He didn't write his opt to try and illicit meaningful dialogue. He created a rant for the sake of complaining (and to strangers no less) A lot of people on here feel like the rest of us need to know what they do with their Apple returns. The point is strangers don't need to be informed every time someone on here returns a product over buyers remorse or just not happy with the product. If the OP had been alerting to a product defect or bad software bug, things would be different.

I voiced my opinion as you did. If people don't like my post, I don't care.

You do make a good point.

I can’t comment on other people, but I started the thread because as far as I could tell, no one has talked about the issue I have, and I thought it might be of interest to some. Perhaps not to everyone, but thankfully you’re here to police the situation on their behalf. I didn’t have a question because, well, there isn’t one to ask - is that a requirement, officer Robert?

Apologies if my thread took the form of a rant. To me it wasn’t, just another eye roll moment in Apple’s slide toward proving their longtime detractors right. If you want a rant, ask me about iTunes.

Understandable, but I do a two hour bike ride every morning and with music and gps, it takes the battery down considerably. Usually by 3pm lately, I was having to charge my old watch. I was hoping for a considerable improvement with the new one, but I’ve only seen a little. Today isn’t too bad (stuck at the desk) - 20% left at 9:30, but both yesterday and the day before, I was more active and had to charge it at around 6pm.

Shouldn’t be a problem with the fast charging.

To be honest I would have probably returned the watch if I am in your situation as well, but I won't buy an open box Apple watch series 6. I looked at the 7 and coming from a 6, I don't see any big reason to upgrade either. Heck my 6 is only 3 months old and I will really loose $ if I trade it in.

OP wanted to save money on top of that.

I haven’t run into any huge issues with my phone and the battery is at 47% right now with AOD and pretty regular use (text, checking activity, emails etc).

15 hrs standing 74 mins activity etc. not bad, but not amazing.

Why do so many people on here feel such a great compulsion to announce to strangers they returned an item to Apple? Do you people make the same announcement with everything else you return?

Because WE enjoy sharing on this open forum...
