Where has the world come to. Before, people would get excited about the unparalleled technology of Apple, now all the buzz is about a few color choices...

The gold, black, and white colors all in one phone looks awful. They don't correlate like the shades of black and shades of white do on the other two color options.

What can we store in a 128GB iPhone? I have a 32GB and it didn't fill it up yet.

If you have to ask, you do not need.

If Apple make one, then there is a need and I will buy the next time I upgrade. Remember, App's are getting larger, photo and video quality is getting better, which all equals more space taken up on your phone.

My 3GS, was a 32GB and it was not as full as my current phone, yet I knew that with HD videos, etc I would need more Gb's.

Only 2.3gb currently left on my 64gb 4s...

Gotta get that money...

Commercially it makes sense, said Jerry Zou, Senior VP and Partner at FleishmanHillard, a public relations firm in Beijing. New colors would add "novelty and variety, both of which are key to winning over fickle Chinese consumers.

LOL, classic.

Benefits? Besides the obvious extra storage space on the higher end, at the very least your next iPhone upgrade will be $100 less expensive if you stand pat with the 32GB model.

Personally I don't care too much about a gold iPhone as I won't be buying one and don't like the colour at all if it looks anything like those renders. However I do like that it seems like Apple will be offering more options, now if they would offer more options with screen size and not just colour.

It looks like Apple is really targeting china with the 5c and 5s. I am glad this for apple but its really too bad for devs. Especially ones who have to run servers for apps.

China accounted for around 20% of app downloads but only 3% of app revenue largely because of jailbroken pirating. Hopefully with ios7 they can lock this up.

don't want no gold iphone, I want my iphone to be gem stone and platinum and have chainz attached. Only then will Apple be cool

Love how all the commentators are speculating about increased sales based on the notion that people would actually buy solely based on color. Hilarious!

Sure gold is popular in Asia, but come on.

It's more about having something different. That is absolutely necessary in the Chinese market, where people upgrade their phones literally every six months.

Phones are a serious status symbol in China, and nobody wants to be seen having "last year's" phone. Also, when they upgrade, they often upgrade to something different.

My father-in-law (who lives on the Mainland) has bought three phones this year alone. First a Samsung Galaxy S III, then he got bored of that, then a Samsung Galaxy Note which was more of a toy than a phone, then finally an iPhone. He's had it for a couple of months, and is already itching to have something "new".

If the 5S doesn't look different to the iPhone 5, there are going to be a lot of Chinese consumers who see it as a "boring" upgrade. The fact that their co-workers can't tell it's the new model at a glance won't help either. So, introducing a new colour is a good move. It means that it will be recognisably "new", and it may be enough of a change to convince Chinese consumers to upgrade, rather than going to something different entirely.

Is there someone that actually wants this? I am not talking just because it is the new color and therefore have to have the new color. I mean ACTUALLY truly have been hoping for a gold back?

It might have been cool to have the front matching gold instead of white, but Apple cheaped out again. You can buy any color backing for your iphone from a 3rd party, so I don't see what the appeal of Apple offering it is, unless they made the front match.

well i think the arabs would be going crazy for this, (they have the most number of gold gadgets) the UAE would be full of gold iphones.
