Exactly. Besides, it isn't as if Apple doesn't have a track record to look at. We know how this will happen. The second generation will come out within less than a year. It'll be a significant redesign from top to bottom and the price will be lower than the original, probably by a hundred dollars or more. In other words, more features, lower price. That's exactly what happened with the second generation iPod and iPhone, not to mention a range of other Apple products.

I think the bottom line is... they can't afford it so they complain about what they can't have anyway.

I'm not sure if there would be 2 camera's if it wasn't for BlackBerry's Playbook showing it off earlier this year. That product is mainly intended to appeal to the enterprise market, but what about companies which do not allow any type of camera in the work place?
I think part of the reason they omitted the front facing camera for iPad 1G was alleviated was that they realized businesses would buy the product regardless and just because it's apple, it would appeal to the public market anyway.

Mobile devices don't follow that so much.

it will likely be a somewhat redesign internally. Put in a front facing camera, maybe a rear. Add a second chipset (or even 3rd if needed) so that whole 'unlocked from the factory' actually means something and you can use it on any carrier that will take it. Bump the ram to at least the iphone 4 levels if not higher, bump the storage perhaps.

ANd then keep the price on it the same. Still a huge value to be grabbed. And many will do it. Even some folks that already had the first gen. THe old one will go to the kids or to the family room to be a remote for their apple tv or in the kitchen for Mommy's cook book apps or whatever
