I prefer the 12" Sync 4 setup in the F-150 over the Tesla style in the Mach E.
Has a wider aspect ratio and offers more physical controls.

I just wish I could flash something else to my Subaru's infotainment.. I don't want to buy an aftermarket system but I don't need the bloat in Subaru's software.

I was about to say it was risky for them to put the name "Mustang" on an electric vehicle, but it seems like it's paying off so far.
But it doesn’t even look like a pony car. It could have been called brumby or something else, but mustang is a different type of car. It looks more like a crossover vehicle than a sports car.

But the biggest sin is the displays look very aftermarket. They seem to not be part of the original design for the interior.

You ever see some of those 70s, 80s, or 90s 'Mustangs'? This is closer to what Ford originally created than some of those monstrosities...

Gave up on wireless CarPlay years ago because it was a crazy battery drain. Even short trips would have a very noticeable impact. Has that changes?

How does it handle multiple devices paired? say you and your spouse using it. How does it know which phone if you are both in the car?

With the aftermarket dongle in my current car, it pops up a selection menu that takes 10-15s to time out. Does Ford have similar?
This isn't a direct answer - but I have a 2019 Jeep Rubicon and I can have 3 devices all connected. Simultaneously having one playing music, another using CarPlay (for maps and stuff) and the other one available with a couple touches of the screen. It works pretty well with minor connectivity issues from time-to-time.

I can use my maps for navigation, my passenger can be in control of the music and if there's someone in the back seat - we can give them control of music OR CarPlay at any time without unplugging any of the devices.

I've owned this car for about 2 months. A few of my thoughts.
  1. The name is dumb. Great car, but it's not a mustang. I guess they wanted the name recognition.
  2. I've never had CarPlay and I love it....when it works. About 20% of the time it does not connect (both wired & wireless). Sometimes i can manually press buttons to make it connect. Sometimes i have to completely turn off the car and restart.
  3. Using my phone as a key is very buggy. 50/50 if it works. Very important to have a backup method to enter & start the car.
  4. I hate the physical volume knob placed on the screen. Waste of space on the screen. Feels & looks cheap. I never use it. I use the volume controls on the steering wheel.
  5. My wife drives a Tesla model 3. The charging network for Tesla is far superior. Superchargers are rock solid dependable in our experience. Electrify America, Chargepoint, etc cannot be counted on. Always have a backup plan for when your charger is out of service with the Ford. Watch MKBHD's video as an example.
  6. I'm a tall and large person. I'm much more comfortable in the Ford vs our model 3.
  7. The range estimate is much more accurate in the Ford versus Tesla. Tesla's estimate is very best case scenario.
  8. I wish it had Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, etc on the screen while charging. That's really nice in the Tesla.
  9. I like having more physcial buttons to control things like windshield wipers with the Ford. Never feels safe playing with the screen on the Tesla to turn on wipers.

Is this a new model year, or is this "just" the same Mustang Mach E that's been on sale since the beginning of the year?

So far, it's about 60% of Ford sales in Norway this year - and 4% of the total car sales. 10-30 weeks to wait if your order one today, depending on configuration.

Oh, look! You can search the owner's manual for how to roll down the window while zipping weaving down Weston Parkway.

If it behaves the same way as my car with wireless CarPlay, it uses a lot of computing power to pick the wrong one…

This is the only complaint I have about wireless CarPlay. (Apart from Waze acting funny half of the time, but I don’t blame Apple or the car manufacturer.)

That is a dumb UI for climate control.
Imagine you need to turn on the rear defogger because you can't see out of it. You will need to look into the screen to turn it on. It is like the visibility is not bad enough.
