I was not a fan of this case.... I thought the 1st agent 18 was the best iphone case around. But this one felt different, slicker, not sure how to explain it.
It was definitely was sturdy, i even thought it would protect better than a slider....but it just felt weird to me. I wasn't a fan of the rubber sides. Seeing the bezel wasn't a big deal either way. It felt slightly thinner than my slider but side by side they seemed to be the same depth off a table. Not a great way to measure but it worked for me.
The killer was how hard it was to get the phone out of the case. So i packaged it back up and sent it back.
I really wanted to like it... but it just wasn't like the original. FYI you can get 50% off if you send any old case back to them.

Well I can understand your views about the side rails (on the outside). It's really a matter of preference. You either have cases with a matte finish which is catchy on pockets and lint, or you have a gloss finish which can scratch easily and after a week looks really bad. This kind of finish is slick (read smooth), but also scratch resistant and doesn't have a shine finish. I really like it.

How does this compare to the Incase Slider?

Depends on your tastes. I had the incase slider also before. Different materials. Agent 18 is a smooth rubber which does not grip onto pants pockets, but Incase is hard smooth plastic.

Agent 18 shows the top of bezel, but incase does not.

Agent 18 seems thinner but can seem wider because of the grips on the sides. I would recommend both evenly. They are both excellent products but I think Incase scratches the phone, not sure.

But, if you want color, Incase it is since Agent 18 is black, blue, and white only.

Color isn't really an issue with me since I'm going to get black. I just want the case that will protect my iPhone the best. Are sliders the best for that?

Yes for full all around coverage. But, don't expect them to protect it from the glass shattering.

What would be the best for that? I don't want a big, bulky case. Do the protective films help?

Films will only do so much. The highest degree for the screen would be something like an invisible shield or best skins ever.

If you have a case, do you need the film? And vice versa?

A film is only going to do two things, (anti-glare) will keep fingerprints off the screen, and it will protect the screen from minor scratches from coins, your finger nails, etc.

A film will not prevent the screen from breaking in a fall. Likewise even with a case such as the incase slider dropping your phone can still result in a broken screen depending on the angle and all that. If you want a case that will completely protect your phone and screen, you may want to look into something like http://store.apple.com/us/product/TV393LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0NA&mco=Mzk2ODQ0Ng

This will most likely protect the phone as well as the screen from most drops around waist level.

That's a bit much for what I'm looking for. I'm just looking not to scratch the screen ...

If I were to get the Invisible Shield, will it come off if I also use the Agent 18 EcoShield SLIDER?

No it won't. The sides of the case don't fully cover the bezel.

EDIT: Well, assuming you're going to use the front screen shield only. Putting the invisible shield on the back of the iphone would (IMHO) make the Ecoshield Slider incompatible.

So you're saying it won't be a problem on the front but you think it might on the back? Just wondering, why do you think it might cause a problem on the back? (I'm not questioning you or anything. I was just wondering. Thanks for your help) ...

The thing about the agent 18 slider is the rubber rails on the back and the side of the case. It's already a very snug fitting case which I imagine would make it impossible to slide on with invisible shield on the back. Then again I haven't tried it...

So you're saying that if I were to put the Invisible Shield on the back, the back will stickier and cause the Slider to stick to it? Thus, it will create friction that will pull the Invisible Shield off?

Should the protective screen for the front be applied before or after putting the Slider on?

So I've had this case on for about two weeks or so. I've gotten a little annoyed with the texture of the case. The plastic is very smooth and slippery. Holding the phone one handed doesn't give me a feeling of stability, I feel like it could slip out of my hand.

I'm only taking about holding the phone other than by the two side rubber rails.

EcoShield vs Shockshield or ?

Got to decide - I have an iPhone 3G and have had Agent 18 cases before for iPods and they never fail me.

I need a case that is going to protect my iPhone from being dropped. It needs to be rugged and up to the task. I don't care if it looks pretty or what colour it is, as long as it's not made from leather.

What do you guys think?

EDIT: I had the Shock case for my iPod mini and loved it.
