VRR is also potentially a power saving technique, the computer only has to refresh at full speed when content changes on the screen.

It could also (in future) fix frame pacing in video playback - though to this point all video players for Mac that I know of dont bother modifying your refresh rate.

I have a pair of 144hz VRR displays and they provide barely any advantage on a Mac - it cant even drive them over 100Hz.

I have the 24" and 27" QHD versions and the hub/dock works great. I love the inclusion of the Gigabit RJ45 LAN port.
Samsung is starting to do that, but did not include it on their new 27" 4K USB-C monitor for some reason, while the new 24" does have it now.

The Dell monitors include MST (daisy-chain over DisplayPort) which works great on Windows but macOS just can't seem to get around to support daisy-chaining monitors via DisplayPort. If you try, macOS only sees one monitor but both monitors are in mirror mode.

I'm sure it's fine.

That said, I have a Dell 27" 4K and the LG 5k2k Ultrafine and the LG is way better.

Pixel density matters if you want a Retina-quality screen for desktop use. I used to have Dell 24" 4Ks that were great. When you have a 4K monitor at 32" diagonal (or ultrawide) those pixels are larger or spaced further apart or both, which is great for viewing at a distance (lean-back gaming etc) but not at desktop distances (under 24" to the monitor) or reading fine text, etc.

I would really love someone to make a screen that's like 1.5x - 2x LG Ultrafine 5Ks in a wide/ultrawide format, maybe curved, just to have a seamless superwide desktop. Or even a dual 24" 4k wide, an 8k2k.

I want to hear more about your 2TB NVME drives.
Just went into my local Micro Center, bought a pair of decent priced drives (the Intel was on sale at the time; decided to mix/match brands just in case one is less reliable than the other -- I tend to lean towards Crucial with Samsung a close second but Samsung had issues of late so decided against it and as it was they were priced higher) and a couple of external enclosures. Built the drives myself. Both are Sabrent enclosures using an Intel 2TB NVME and a Crucial 2TB NVME. I didn't particularly care if they're the fastest thing since Thrust SSC or an SR-71. Any run of the mill NVME was going to be plenty fast for my needs. They're at least better than the Inland enclosure with the 4TB Western Digital hard drive I built a year or so ago for my Photos library. I'm regretting that decision as it's beyond pokey. I didn't think it'd matter that much as I was just using it to store photos and wanted cheap and abundant storage but... yeah, it's painfully slow.
