Nah, I've never done it. Its recessed so it won't touch anything on a flat surface, and its not like it really gets scratched either. I wouldn't bother unless you're set on being absolutely complete.

Does the back and front of the skin still have that "Orange Peel" effect? I used the BSE on my old iPhone and the "Orange Peel" texture made watching videos in the outdoors difficult.

Finger prints are better than without the skin, though they obviously are still present but easily wiped. The orange peel effect is there if you look at an angle which is why I use the BSE skin on the back and a good screen protector on the front.

I just installed the BestSkinsEver on my iPhone 3G and my gf’s iPhone v1. I have to say I am very impressed. I have an InvisibleShield on my 80GB iPod and it definitely has been great for me, so I wanted to cover our iPhones too. I decided on the BSE due to the MUCH lower price for it (I got 2 full-body 3G skins and 1 V1 skin for less than 1 InvisibleShield).

Since I have the IS to compare to, I have to say I notice zero difference between the two skins. They are the same, as far as I can tell.

I also was worried about the effect the skin would have on the iPhone but I must say I am very happy with it. It does not affect the viewing at all, IMO. In face, I think it feels better. Fingerprints don’t seem to stick to the screen as much as it did without the skin. If anyone wants pics, lemme know. I have tested the skin in very bright sunlight, darkness, etc and there is not only no difference in the image quality of the face, but I swear it does look better!

I also have the Incase Leather Sleeve for iPhone 3G (Black) (yes, I like to take care of my iPhone) :). The skin and case work very well together. Really the case is just so I can clip it to my pocket, and the skin does the extra job of keeping the whole thing scratch-resistant and pretty.

The application for the BSE skin took a total of 45 minutes for both phones, and that was just because I was VERY particular about getting it as perfectly placed as possible. You are supposed to let it sit, unpowered, for 24 hours but I didn’t do that. I let it sit for about 6 hours and turned it on. Looked good, no issues. I did do it at night though, so it would have the night to settle itself. I took BSE’s advice and used some baby shampoo (Johnsons – no more tears! :)) in a small shallow bowl of water.

Overall, I have to say I am very content with the BSE. IMO, save the cash from the IS and get the BSE. :)

I agree with this post entirely, and would like to add that 99% of cases have no trouble fitting over the BSE in my experience. I use a DLO case over mine.

I did the steamy shower method and my biggest mistake was not enough water to lubricate.

So they sent me another which I am going to put on once I get a bit of time.

I guess I could post a picture of a sh*tty application just so you all will know what that looks like..?

:D

Don't worry about it - next time, skip the shower and just be liberal with the soapy water. It'll all be pushed out when you flatten the skin with a credit card, etc.

InvisibleShield

I just went to the mall and found an invisible shield kiosk. It was $24.99 for the full body and $10 for them to install - which I chose due to everyone complaining about how difficult it is if you are impatient with it. They also said that if it comes off within 14 days that they will fix it for free. After 14 days you have to pay the $10 install fee.

Where are you from ? I can't believe that they don't have an IS kiosk in NYC somewhere, I find it amazing. The biggest city in America, and the don't have afriggen kiosk, lol. There is NO way I will ever attempt to do it myself, I just don't have the patience. My buddy has an IS front on his iPod Touch, and I love it, think it's awesome.
