Nope, Power brick is about the same size, a bit thinner. 153 X 75 X 30 (in mm)for the brick versus ... 130 X 100 X 40 (in mm) or something like that for the hub. But it does indeed get hot sometimes. Especially now we have a heatwave here in Europe.

This is why I want to see better EGPU docks that also have all these ports but also have 120mm silent fans built in.

Ok, problem seems to be the difference between eGPU boxes, thunderbolt hubs and "real extensions" (pcie) over thunderbolt. eGPU/ext PCIE boxes lack on the speed department when connecting drives (usb3.0 unless the slot is taken by a pcie=>nvme card) or show bad performance or incompatibility when using graphics cards. Asus XG station has one USB c 3.1 gen 2 EXTERNAL connector.
And the price! A decent box + GPU + extra (NVME) SSD added together equals the price of a separate gaming laptop capable of the same, all ports included. That's why this hub still rocks: allows me to unplug my laptop after a click with one cable from my desk featuring second (bigger) monitor, card reader, backup storage, calibration device (Spyder 5), Sharkoon docking station, Gb network, Bose sound,...

Sure! Can I ask, while I have your attention, why my Logitech C922 webcam is doing this when my computer is powered off?

Hello,

@djbuddha

I know it was 2 years ago, but can you tell me if problems with Logitech C922 was resolved by support ?
I need to choose dock for CEO in my company and he has the same internet camera :)

Just saw this now. In bed- I’ll check tomorrow as I still have the camera it’s just not hooked up to the dock.

Also, Caldigit’s support team is 2nd to none. I have so much good I can say about them. I’ll go more in-depth when I check.
