So, to charge them you need another different charger. How about Apple paying Bose some money to offset the cost so Bose would offer a Lightning cable/power supply instead of needing a micro USB power supply and cable?
You don't need a special "micro USB power supply". You can charge it from computers or any charger with a USB port, including Apple's iPhone/iPad chargers. If you don't want to carry two cables, you can get combo USB to Lightning/Micro USB cables for a few dollars (those come in handy because Micro USB is the established standard for charging portable devices for everything except Apple products).

The article is wrong; they use micro-USB, not mini-USB.

Someone's listening. They corrected the review.

In reply to the last post, the reason for that is obvious. No professional music producer would want ANC because it changes the sound reproduction. If you're gunning for 'true' audio monitoring, you definitely wouldn't want noise cancelling headphones.

[QUOTE="sclawis300, post: 23516253, member: 427983"Because they own beats and don't want you buying Bose.[/QUOTE]
Because Apple wants people to quit using audio jacks, and a faster way of shutting complainers like me up is to make products readily available from multiple vendors. They don't need to subsidize everyone, or for a long time, just get enough product out to make it a viable solution.

Always on ANC? Really? That seems unlikely, given that ANC is a big power drain (obviously). Surely these headphones have a switch like every other Bose noise-cancelling set?

Bose are not really considered quality HiFi headphones on the UK. You won't see any Bose equipment in a music professional's setup.
So please share better headphones with better noise-cancelling tech.

These do not have a NC switch. The NC is on if the power is on, whether you are using wired or bluetooth. The NC is off if the power is off (or battery dead) when using the wire.

There is also a Limited Edition "midnight blue" color available from Apple Retail Stores. Source: I bought it there last week.

QC 35 were the best tech purchase I made this year. They are fantastic.

I prefer their in-ear version due to the compact nature for travel (I don't need more weight and bulk on my minimalist travel kit). I'd really like to see a lighting version of those without the battery (i.e. powered by the phone).
If they released a lightning version (which they won't), the headset will still need batteries. Otherwise the noise-cancelling system will drain the phone flat. I have both the QC25s, which they take a AAA battery, and the in-ear QC20s, which have a built-in battery charged via mini USB.

Well, that's basically the NC switch, isn't it? Like on the QC25s. Switch off (or batteries dead), the headphones operate as normal headphones. Switch on, the NC kicks in.

I had the PXC 550 and sound quality is amazing and better than the bose. The ANC is nowhere near as good as the QC35. I also found the QC35's to be more comfortable. I returned my PXC 550 and I'm waiting for the qc30's to be released.
I hope at some point retailers will be carrying the PXC. I want to try it. I had few Sennheiser headphones and always loved them. It's true the Bose ANC is pretty impressive. If Sennheiser can get close to it, that's it's a win because the sound quality is better (at least from what I have been reading).
Also the PXC seems better looking (subjective, I know) and better build. We'll see. Either headphones seems very good purchase.

Not really. That sounds like backtracking. If they had a separate NC switch, your first assertion would be correct.

Actually this is exactly why I chose the PXC-550s over the QC35s. Sennheiser's headphones have an NC switch that lets you choose between two levels of noise-cancelling, or none at all, and all three modes are powered, so you can listen wirelessly with no ANC at all.

They are Okay. Returned mine after a week. Volume had to be turned up on iPhone and Macbook pro to match the sound of my Beats wireless studio. ANC was very good but that's Bose' niche.
Interesting, does beats still put weights on their products to make it feel heavy and premium? Is your battery replaceable?

Is it true that the "powered ANC doesn't work in wired mode" as the reviewer states? That doesn't seem to make any sense to me. The cable exists to not pull as much battery power.
No, that's wrong the ANC does work in wired mode but the headphones still work without the ANC on but only in wired mode. They even give 2 sets of battery life stats (20 hours bluetooth, and 40 hours wired).

Tried these out in the store a few weeks ago. Wow! That's all I have to say.

I'm actually looking for the quietcontrol 30 though. It's in ear but same concept and should be out in a few weeks.

I have a pair of wired quietcomforts and they sound good and the noise cancelling is great. Not sure I can justify $350 just to get a Bluetooth version, I'll just use the adapter.

I recently upgraded my QC25s for these, and the convenience of being wireless is great. Yes, the price is a bit steep, but once people put these on, they'll love them. Plus, I was able to sell my QC25s on eBay for $205.

one more happy owner of QC35's here - and yes they are great - the multiple pairing and easy "re-pair" from the app makes it superb. First few firmware versions was a bit buggy - but now it seems most of the pesky bugs has been caught. Lost pairing with a device - just push button forward twice and it tries to reconnect to all known previously paired devices.

They might not be loud if you are trying to blow your brains out - but if you have normal (non-damaged) hearing - they play loud enough.

I can't stand in ear products. Wearing glasses there are very few "around ear" headphones I can wear. But the QC'35's are by a huge margin the most comfortable.

And I do love they have REAL buttons - not that crappy TOUCH stuff that never works right. Click it to off - and they are off and not accidentally in pairing mode erasing your previous paired device... (Happens often on headsets where ON and OFF are touch dependent on how long you hold the finger on the touch). And ON/OFF is INSTANT - no waiting with finger pressed on a button to turn them on. They connect to the devices instantly. Only thing I could wish for is that you sometimes could ignore the lady telling you "Now connected to iDevice X. Now connected to PC Y" - she talks to slow....

They might not be the highest end in "Sound Quality" but they are the best I have tried that are wireless by a huge margin incl. MANY "acclaimed" Apt-X and BT4.x headphones. - yes you might get better ear cans - but then usability goes to the "crap" house...

So in short - GREAT usability - GREAT comfort - GREAT battery life - GOOD (not great) sound - superb product! But most people over the age of 26 would not be able to tell the audio difference anyway... Best Bluetooth headphones ever made (so far)

Is there any lag or delay in audio on video playback?

I had a pair of bluetooth headphones a while back and remember getting rid of them because of the delay with video playback. Hoping they fixed that issue by now.

USB-C would be great in these since it’s the new/future standard.

Really? In Apple land Lightning is the new standard for audio, not USB-C. Not sure how they will fix this for the mac line. Will they include a lighting port?

.

My 7+ will go two days without a charge under normal use. I'd be fine contributing battery from phone to noise cancelation. I have the 20s too and that online battery annoys me. I had over ears previously but dumped them due to their bulk.

I bought a pair of these and returned them the next day. At mid to high volume levels the bass completely falls apart and they almost sound broken. The Verge pointed this out and I also confirmed the problem occurred with multiple headsets and with different audio tracks. Very disappointing as they seem to be the best wireless option on the market right now.

I QC35 and I love tgem. So far the best on the market. Zeto problems with BT. The only 2 things I don't like. I cannot turn off noise cancellation and when I listen loud music it leaks some sound outside( not too much, but still)

P.S.:
I also tried Plantronics, returned them back to Amazon. Problems with sound and video sync, Button clicks 0.5 sec delay.
