DLC is either ON or OFF. Pretty sure it's either Dynamic Loudness Control or Dynamic Level Control, which automatically provides a bass boost at low listening levels, rolling-off to no boost as the volume level increases. Most older consumer amps have a "Loudness" button that does the same thing.

$50 more for:
  • Less battery performance that the QC35 (QC35 20/40 vs PXC 550 20/30)
  • Same ANC
  • Arguably uglier design
  • Bigger storage case
  • Non-replaceable battery

o_O Why would anyone do this?

Well to be precise the Senns have higher frequecy response 17Hz to 23K, higher impedance at both passive and active, less harmonic distortion, higher dB....... Bose doesn't even include any of such data in its manual, their manuals are usually useful to find the on/off button only.

Bose is the perfect hype brand, medium range design, no reliable specs for pro applications and high prices combined with lousy performance way surpassed by low cost brands such as Pioneer, Philips or Yamaha.

Without even mention the bass issues with the qc35 and the annoyance that you cannot turn off the NC in quiet places.

Uglier design? Actually I don't see the Bose in a MOMA exposition or something, if you would be interested in cooler design you would choose B&O.

another review i've read despised the touch controls, stating accidental play/pause as soon as he took them on/off, or worse put them around the neck. anyone has an experience to share?

It is an explicit feature, if you take them off they will pause and when you put them back on they continue playing. It can be deactivated inside the App. I really like it and use it quite often.

[doublepost=1503665810][/doublepost]I love these headphones. I tried to other headphones before I bought these. The bose,Sony's,we're also on my list. The feel of these were to my liking. I also have the parrot zik's which are also very nice! The touch control's on these are a bit twitchy but work for the most part. Wind noise is also prevalent with these headphones which are not on my Parrot zik's. The capture app doesn't support Google play music which really sucks.

$350 and up for wireless headphones that dont sound as good as $125 ATH-MX50? No thanks. BT still has a way to go before it can compare to the good old cord. Adding noise cancellation doesn't improve the sound. All its doing for me is draining the battery faster. Hopefully someday BT will improve, NC will be more standard, and the price will drop below $200.
I have the 550’s and am expecting delivery on my ATH-M50X’s tonight. I hear the soundstage is poor on them compared to the 550’s. Are the wired M50X still better than BT?

Choices. Choice is why someone would choose these cans.
I bought both the QC35 and the 550 Sennheiser. The latter has a much better sound signature. Bose is good at music and great at ANC. Sennheiser is great at music and great at ANC. Better features too. If you don’t care about music quality just buy earplugs. I returned my QC35.

I have beatsX for work and 550 for home. There is a definitive difference in sound between these two. I tested the QC35s and while they sounded amazing, the 550s seemed more 'live', not sure how to describe it.
