Apparently James May has told the press The Hamster is talking now! :)
Yeah, it is starting to look better. Hope he makes a full recovery. He was trying to go faster than 303.3mph to beat the British land speed record. He does seem to be doing remarkably well.

I'm a big fan of top gear and really hamster puts all the heart in it :)

Judging by the latest news, hes not gonna die, which is great, i dont really know what "a good recovery" means exactly but its better than no recovery at all :)

Also a Moderator/Admin should change the topic title since hamster's condition has now been downgraded from "serious but stable" to "stable".

But the thing that really bugs me is this

Link

He dosent need a tribute hes not dead :)

Also my friend, a really good one from school, was going to see a show with him james and jeremy clarkson in, not tg i dont know what its called, but i doubt hamster will be in it :(

Hope You Get Well Richard

A good recovery means that they are covering their backs by not saying full recovery in case of brain damage which is quite likely.

Hopefully not

From what I hear his GCS score is 13 and if he is talking then he can't be 'tubed' any longer so hopefully not to much chance of lasting/severe brain damage. If he had any signs of brain damage i assume they would keep him 'tubed' and sedated to minimise danger of bleeding etc.

Guess we just have to wait and see, I for one hope he makes a full recovery and is back on our screens before too long.

I've been following this story since the news broke, Top Gear is some of the only TV that I watch (Extras and Little Britan) and I really hope that Richard makes a full recovery. I sent an e-mail to the Top Gear producers asking why the Stig didn't drive the Jet-Car and that I hope that he makes a full recovery soon so he can bless our TV-screens once again with his whitened, shiny teeth.:p

maybe this means he is the stig now....

i've been following the news too, and hope he does come right back on top gear when he's back on his feet. i'm glad the new season has been postponed.

Jeremy Clarkson told the Sun newspaper that Richard had got to his feet and walked "shakily" to the toilet during the early hours of Friday.

That's encouraging news.

According to the latest British press (not that I trust the redtops much) - his first complete sentence after waking: "Was I driving like a tit?"

And apparently he's wanting his crash to be shown on Top Gear.

Meanwhile, the producer has threatened to walk if the Beeb try and tone down the show. That is, if it returns. :(

edit: also expected to make a full, complete recovery. :D

I expect that the popularity of the show will give them some leverage - Clarkson has already made it plain that the show will continue unaltered as far as he's concerned.

One of the first things that Clarkson said to him is "You really are a sh*t driver". trust him to take the piss.

If they are saying recovery will be complete he's bloody lucky, my sisters boyfriend fell off his mountain bike a few years back and hit his head on a tree, even with his helmet get got brain damage and now has a terrible short term memory, he'll ask for the same thing twice in a row every now and again.

it's sad. but honestly when someone is driving that fast...

they know it is dangerous.

Like Steve Irwin... it isnt nice, it isnt fun to realize mortality and that you ought to be careful and not dance with danger.

True but no one like that can turn down a dangerous activity. It is like a drug; the adrenaline rushing through you makes it addictive and you want to do it over and over again.
