I received mine and I have some bad news. it certainly does affect the signal strength on my 4S. this didn't surprise me no thanks to the crappy AT&T signal in my area. my signal has always been bad but now I can barely use my 4S with the Ringke case.

Ditto on my 4. I ordered the slim case but they sent me the steel bumper so I gave it a try to test reception (reason why I didn't choose this case). Lose about a bar on average.

I was thinking to pick a black one with my white 4S
But it seems that the border will be too obvious

Pale color like the Lime one might get dirty easily
So the only choice is the wine red

If they can offer gray one will be appreciated:D
I like purple as well

They have a iPhone 4 version!!! Why is no one selling that here?

Strange because the Larry Green vid review said no reception issues.

I like his reviews but I don't think he really looked into it? Running a proper field test is going to tell you more than glancing at your bars once in a while. Keep in mind I was also in a marginal signal area like ozziegn.

I still like mine but like I said in my review, I have excellent coverage in my area so I don't see much of a signal problem.

There is? I've been looking everywhere, i can't find a iPhone 4 version of the STEEL

Edit: nvm found it, but its only on the korean website, not the USA website
Anyone know how to order it in the USA?

I'm on Verizon - perhaps that's why I didn't notice any sort of signal decrease worth mentioning?

For what's it worth I actually do do more than "glance at my bars once and a while" when doing a review. I generally keep a case on my phone for at least one week prior to reviewing and try to observe any changes from the normal when doing so. For me "real-world" situations seem to be the best way to test a case.

Did you notice issues with upload speeds? I am also on Verizon and posted my results back on page 4 of this thread. The download differences were marginal but in an area where I average 2.0 down and 0.7 up it takes 3+ min to upload a photo to dropbox.

looking to get one of these. so whats the definite answer on the signal loss? does it exist or not?

I think it depends on your signal strength and coverage. It did affect signal but not much to make me notice it at all but I have excellent coverage almost everywhere I go.

I did see lower upsteam rates, but I didn't do any real uploading. Just used the speedtest.net app.

A better Version of the Steel Bumper.

Here is a newer version of the steel bumper. This is the steel bumper case with full back covering for your iPhone 4s. It looks pretty awesome. :D

Sadly no, but I was hoping since it does exist, someone here might pick it up and carry it.

All these Chinese case makers are missing the mark. Quit using aluminum which turns the case and your hand into a Faraday cage of sorts and kills the signal. Use hardened polycarbonate and these would sell much better.

I with you! The metal cases all kill reception and they really would do much better if they used polycarbonate and make that into these cool styles like they do the metal cases.

Yah, it would be really cool to see some of the classics like the el3ctron or the vapor in non-metallic format. Use a material like what the Caze Thinedge uses, TR90, or whatchamacallit....it looks like metal but isnt and doesnt affect reception one bit.

Just got mine. Overall, it seems like a pretty decent case. My main gripe is that the case creates a weird buzzing sound when the phone vibrates. I think this might be caused by the two pieces of metal (since there is a little gap between the top/bottom connection). When I grip my phone tight around the connection I don't get the buzzing sound.
