Hi,

I've been reading threads about external monitor compatibility, 1440p, multiport adapter etc and it seems that the rMB can output 2560x1440 through the hdmi port (how well it works depending on the monitor used..) .. does anybody on this forum use such a setup on a daily basis and if yes, how is it working out ?

I've been using a rMBP 13" with external 2560x1440 monitor (using displayport cable) + usb keyboard + usb mouse through a hub in the monitor. So basically I just plug in the power cord, displayport cable, and the usb to monitor cable and that's it. I leave the laptop lid closed and run it in clamshell mode, works perfect.

Question: can I do the same with the rMB 12" + Apple AV multiport adapter? Does it work in clamshell mode, i.e. I could simply plug in the usb-c part of the adapter and hit a key on the keyboard to wake the computer up?

Many thanks in advance!

Seems to work with many external displays but have not seen anyone using this new macbook with 30" cinema display. 2560x1600 is not listed anywhere as far as I know.
