I mean that's why I'm disappointed. How are we still on 295. whatever, when there are non-beta released drivers for 304.x

I know, we shouldn't be relentless or nit-picking, but Apple does have the resources and the influence and the manpower to have regular updates.

I'm sure they have the manpower to maintain regular updates.

But I don't think they can keep it stable.

Perhaps the way they do scaling in OS X for the rMBP is not compatible yet with 30x drivers.

Even in 10.8.2, I'm still seeing render issues in Safari.

I still see lag in Safari, but my battery life has significantly improved which is a huge plus for me.

- Lag has been reduced to bare minimum. Absolutely no UI lag. Little safari lag on websites like theverge.com (but that lags on every other computer i tried too..)
- The screen seems a little brighter (Although I can't be certain... but now full brightness hurts my eyes for some reason)
-Battery life better. (not by a lot. I usually get 7 hours on 10.8.1, so far, I've seen it say 9 hours remaining with normal safari usage, I guess I gotta wait to see)
- iMessages and Facetime now iPhone integrated.. FINALLY
-Overall smoother system. Boots in 6 seconds now for me. Awesome. I love it :)

EDIT: I just noticed that switching spaces feels like its on steroids. It's a lot faster (the animation) but not necessarily smoother.

I'm also certain that they've done something about the lag because resizing windows now feels "normal". before, everytime I want to resize safari, it would lag like crazy.

I agree, it's 98% as silky smooth as my GF's 27" iMac. A few minor hiccups here and there. Expanding folders in the Launchpad is pretty laggy still on my system (an admittedly rarely used feature). Nearly everything else is obviously better, sometimes improved by leaps and bounds. Safari's tab switching gesture is very smooth now. Safari's scrolling is even better. Mission Control animations are still slightly laggy, especially when there are lots of open apps.

App Expose is really laggy, especially the first time you do it on an open app. It actually appears to be the case that going from Mission Control to App Expose and back again produces a lot of lag. Swipe up, swipe down, swipe down, swipe up, swipe up. That sort of thing.

UI animations do seem quite a bit better.

I just figured out that swipe up, then swipe up again while hovering over an app will switch to that app. Nice! No more clicking for me!

And here is battery life at max brightness + my usual workflow (Xcode + Photoshop being the main drainers)

Not so shabby at all. When I'm indoors at 50 - 65% brightness, I get more usable run time, obviously.
