In the idle state, yes its a lot cooler, but anything normal web browsing, the temperature is higher than cMBP



It will throttle the CPU when it reach over 75c. It's also unbearable to touch the keyboard or even put onto the laptop.

Also, this is not true for every laptop, it's MBP design.

This is NOT correct.

My rMBP has a 2.7G CPU, which is an intel 3820QM. According to the intel spec sheet, the Tjunction is 105C, and according to intel (quote):

Tjunction Max is the maximum temperature the cores can reach before thermal throttling is activated. Thermal throttling happens when the processor exceeds the maximum temperature. The processor shuts itself off in order to prevent permanent damage.

In other words, no throttling will happen until it reaches 105C.

And yes, it can get hot. And no, it is not a laptop, it's a notebook. Put it on a table, not in your lap if the heat bothers you.
