If you're not in a hurry wait till haswell - when they change architecture they will upgrade the graphic card. But Haswell supposedly comes in march-june 2013, and my guess is that Airs and 13" retina will get updates before 15" retina does... So it may as well be till the end of august for the 15" update

Thats what I want to do but I would like to enjoy the machine now!

Just buy. I thought about waiting... I have a late 2008 unibody.

But I figured i'm going to sell and replace if there is something compelling enough in the updated model. So I'm ordering mine tomorrow.

So I was almost convinced on waiting and now you post this and suddenly I'm about to order the ******* computer again!

Decisioooonsss......

I bought an iPhone 4 and everyone told me to take it back as a new one was about to come out that would blow its socks off. At the same time, I was given an 8Gb iPhone 3GS.

I took the 4 back and eventually the 4GS came out. Was it worth the wait? I didn't think so, so I decided to hang on for the iPhone 5.

I still don't think that has anything significant enough about it to upgrade from the 3GS, which is still absolutely fine and does everything I want it to.

Maybe when the iPhone 6 comes out? Nah. More likely when I drop my 3GS in the toilet. :p

When will the next rMPB come? A year? Will it be significantly better?

I gave up worrying and bought one, and I'm really glad I did. I've really enjoyed the last few days with it.

The only time I'd suggest holding off buying a current model is when you actually know the date of the announcement of the next one. Say for a month before you would be right to hold on, but otherwise just go buy one. They're great.

Buy it if you need it.

Technology keeps improving and changing and getting better year after year.

lol.. you're funny. Where people tell you to buy now, you say you're in no rush. Then, someone tells you to wait, and it's, "Thats what I want to do but I would like to enjoy the machine now! :("

Obviously, you want it now! So, just buy and enjoy the damn thing. Macbooks are probably one of a very few computers [or tech, for that matter ] that don't drop their prices like a 70 yr old whore!!

I hear what you are all saying. Could be a few months, won't be much of a upgrade, you want it now so just buy it Etc. I'm waiting for the simple reason that there are some seemingly minor glitches that MAY get worked out but the biggest reason is I'm turned off by this whole LG/ Samsung crapshoot I've read so much about. It seems to me if I'm going to layout $2400+ for a damn computer, and they are using two different displays, and many people seem to think one is superior to the other, then I should be able to choose, and return it if I lose their little 'Luck of the draw' game. Therefore, I'm holding on to my money until they put this issue to rest. My 2008 15" MBP still has a few months left in it.

If you want the 13", wait. If you want the 15", a signifigant dGPU bump won't happen until 2014. The HD4060 or whatever their calling it, will truly only matter with ultrabooks or those machines designed without dGPU's.

Many MacBook Air and MacBook 13" users are licking their chops waiting for these to be released. Intel can claim all they want about 50% increases, but we all know that drivers are need to really optimize things. This is an area Intel really lacks proper attention.

As for the display, you have AppleCare for that exact reason. Waiting for a silent fix is pointless. There are, and always will be defective points to hardware. If you have issues down the road, send it in for replacement. I could not offer this advice with other manufactures out there with such confidence.

Good luck with your purchase.
