rMBP - Text is blurry on external display

I got a Mini-Display to VGA cable today. Now I have the blurry screen issue as well. 2011 Macbook Pro 13". When I was using a Mini-Display to DVI adapter before it broke, I had no such issue. Could it be the cable I bought? Or does this issue happen with mainly VGA?

VGA is an old analog standard that will absolutely look blurry (especially pushed to its limits at modern resolutions).

Well ****, guess I'll order another DVI adapter then.
