The MM is a great mouse, what really irks me is that you really have to abuse the scroll ball for it to not function properly. My local college has a whole lab of imacs with MMs and only a few don't scroll properly, and none of the mice or keyboards were cleaned in 3 years. so quit complaining... mine is fine and so are my various 20-30 friends who have the wired version for pcs...

I think that's a slightly patronizing comment. I've had my MM (wired) for as long as I've had my Dell mouse that I use at work- guess which one needs cleaning more often? The MM. In fact the one I have to use at work has NEVER needed cleaning. It has a scroll wheel and that works just fine. The tracker in the MM on the other hand worked well for about three months and since then has needed constant cleaning... and NOT because I abused it or sweated too much or anything like that... it just doesn't withstand regular use. It's not very well designed/built.

The Rocketfish hopefully won't be so high maintenance.

I have had multiple Mighty Mice with the various machines I have purchased over the last couple of years, and although I use a bluetooth one when I am on the move (as it sees very infrequent use and I don't mind if it gets damaged in transit), I gave up on them for home use long ago. I now use a Logitech MX Revolution and would not dream of using anything else.

I just saw yesterday (picked up Spore for my fiance for her birthday) that the Rocketfish BT is on sale for $28, which for those keeping track, is less than the corded version. I may have to purchase one now!

I also just spotted that Rocketfish is coming out with a new BT keyboard, I wonder if it is going to slightly resemble the Aluminum keyboard, in the same way that the Rocketfish mouse in question resembles the MM.

I am loving this mouse. I recently hooked up my Macbook Pro to my HDTV and I feel like I have a brand new computer. So I went and got the apple wireless keyboard and was going to pick up a Mighty Mouse but I saw this mouse instead and very happy with my choice.

I have a question tho, is there anyway to view the battery life in the bluetooth options like I can my keyboard. Also the scroll wheel can click left and right, what options can I set up with that, and how?

so I got one of these for my MBP.

However, when I connect it and try to use it, I'm unable to move around the cursor, but I can scroll and use the buttons, what's up with that?

I press connect on the mouse, and it starts to blink, then I go up to the bluetooth symbol and choose to connect the mouse, the green light stops blinking and stays green for like 4 seconds, then it goes out. Is it supposed to be like that?

Hm, so I got me another rocketfish mouse, that does work.

However, I'm kind of dissappointed with the acceleration settings. I have it set next slowest setting possible, and it's still moving around too fast. If I set it to the slowest it's dead slow. It's almost like there's a few steps missing in between. Is there someway to tweak that?

use steermouse. When I first got my rocketfish bluetooth mouse, i felt the same way you did. Then I used steermouse and it was perfect! I would highly recommend it!

I installed USB overdrive and fiddled around with the settings, now I'm satisfied with it

The one I just got off of ebay does the same thing.

I had a MM as well. Had to RIGOROUSLY clean every week. It eventually STOPPED scrolling in all directions. I bought the Rocketfish Apple Bluetooth mouse today, and it has worked great so far... Only issue--I had some trouble with the initial setup, but I just rebooted and installed it again, and it worked great after that. It's nice to be scrolling again! I'll let you guys know if any issues come up... if not, I will report back when the batteries go out!!

As a side note, I've noticed that the wired MM seems to be more sensitive to accidental squeezes/scrollball clicks than the BT MM. Anyone else notice this?

Yeah, I've noticed that. I guess they made it stiffer on the bluetooth MM because you'd be picking it up more often than the wireless one. I just disable the squeeze in the preferences either way. I prefer to scrollball-click for dashboard/expose.

I have had the Rocketfish for a few days now and it's still working very well. I figured out how to set it to work with expose, and now when I click down on the scroll wheel, it shows all of my open windows. I like clicking it a lot more than using the side buttons on the MM. Even though on the MM I could set the scroll ball to click down and use expose - it was too damn SENSITIVE and would click with the touch of a feather - especially when the damn ball was dirty and WOULDN'T SCROLL ANYWAY. When the scroll wheel is clicked on the Rocketfish, it makes me put more pressure on it - it's not near as touchy and prevents accidental clicks.

I loveeee and stand by my Rocketfish bluetooth mouse.

I also ordered a unreleased (in the US) Belkin Bluetooth comfort mouse from the UK and it's a $50.00 mouse but I prefer to use my Rocketfish that I only paid $12.00 for.

I love it so much I bought 2 more a few days ago, incase they are being discontinued.

Where did you buy your Rocketfish from?

I just picked up a MM from bestbuy the other day and I'm going to return it. I find it incredibly slow, even with the tracking speed all the way up. I plugged in a logitech mouse and it flies across the screen. I had to slow it down some. It doesn't look like bestbuy has the Rocketfish anymore. I know I've seen it there before.

I just got my Rocketfish and I'm really liking it! Much more comfortable than the MM in my hand and I like the tracking and scroll better as well.

Well.. the batteries finally died today. Not to bad, considering I work from home which makes me use it at least 7+ hours a day. Still works like new!
