The next UPS flight from Shenzhen to Anchorage (Apple's usual route) is scheduled to depart in about 5 hours. I'm guessing the PFS people will get an update soon.

Flights can be tracked here: https://flightaware.com/live/findflight/ZGSZ/PANC

I've accepted that my order will not change from "Processing" any time soon. So I will be be trying to reserve a phone at my local Apple Store tomorrow.

Just an interesting read while we wait: http://gizmodo.com/this-is-how-you-fly-200-000-iphones-from-china-to-the-u-1634959477

It seems that when the iPhone 6 launched, they were able to fit 195,000 iPhones on each 747 aircraft. If you take into account the amount of flights that happen in one day bringing these iPhones to the U.S, can we assume that over 1 million iPhones are being delivered every day?

Assuming last years data, they sold over 13 iPhones million in the first week: http://variety.com/2015/digital/news/apple-iphone-6s-record-sales-13-million-1201603776/

Interesting numbers to look at. I wonder how many people move up in queue in just one day of shipments

How do you figure one million per day? I'm guessing more like 400,000 to 800,000 per day depending if there are two or four flights each day. Still a lot...

Screenshot or it didn't happen

Sorry I wasn't very clear before.
It was marked as 'processing' yesterday (sat), shipped today (sun)

UPS tracking number doesn't work yet, but that's to be expected.

EDIT: to clarify - the phone may or may not have actually left China, but when it is processed by UPS, it's on its way soon enough. New estimated delivery date is Thursday, right after I leave for a short vacation.

I haven't followed the flights but aren't there more than 5 in a full 24 hour period? Thats A LOT of iPhones

Just chatted online with another Apple specialist who was much more helpful than the previous one. I feel much better now. I am sharing part of her response to help all of us.

"Thank you very much for your patience! I am looking at your order now and I do see here that your new iPhone 7 is currently being prepared to ship and is scheduled to be delivered between September 30th - October 6th* but since the order is already prepared to ship I would expect it much sooner. The order should be shipping out tomorrow or Tuesday and will be delivered within 2-3 business days after it ships so congratulations! Once your order is shipped you will receive an email with your tracking information and at that time is when you will be charged! Just remember a signature may be required upon delivery or once the order has shipped you can go to apple.com/orderstatus and pre-sign!"

"Since you are already enrolled in the iPhone Upgrade Program you would not be able to enroll again unless this order was returned." (This was in response to me asking if I could enroll a pickup phone in IUP also - no need to now).

Looks like most of us should see movement in next 24 - 48 hours!!!!

* I had original Oct. 4 - 10 dates but they were changed when I chatted with Apple Specialist on 9th and explained I had work trip starting Oct. 3.

Very interesting, appears like a 1.5 week bonus. I was hoping for at least a 2 week bonus but I'll take what I can get, delivery time in sig.

I guess I am definitely not getting my order anytime soon. It's probably an actual delivery of 10/4-10/10. My local Apple has no stock right now of 7+. So annoying, I officially dislike preordering, lol.

Immediately checked reservation system for store pickup ..

State: check
Store: check
Model: check
Carrier: check
Capacity: :(
Color: :(

Guess I'll just have to wait some more...

I was able to get a 7+ 128 matte black in store today via reservation. Crazy that I was able to buy one in store without waiting in any lines before the one I pre-ordered within 20 minutes of pre-orders going live even shipped. Apple clearly does not prioritize pre-orderers.
