It seems to be different for everyone. Mine is still pending since Friday night/ Sat morning. It is still pending even though my phone has shipped.
I hoping we get shipping notification within two-three hours. Looks like the "Apple little helpers" start working at 8:00 am local time in China.
I'm hoping for this as well. I've been in PFS for like 60+ hours now.....and I mean it's getting a bit aggravating but I'm trying to remain optimistic.
I have a feeling, PTS means you're phone has been alotted to be produced or assigned to a phone already made. The time is takes from assembly to freighter is your wait to be officially shipped. Some people who saw supportprofile.apple.com with their new phone before the shipped notifications were the people who got their phones on launch day. None of us saw that until our phones were shipped. We just have to look at previous deliveries and can estimate how soon we could have our devices to how late we could receive them. I'm sure some get them a day early, the day on time, or a day late.
Also, Since AT&T phones differ in its compatibility with other cellular networks, maybe that's why you see a bigger AT&T push with shipping of orders from apple.com

I pre-ordered 9/12 around 1pm PST as an ATT upgrade through the Apple Store.

Original delivery estimate date 10/5-10/12
Went PFS Friday night 10PM PST
Shipped today (9/19). Conformation came around 6:15 AM PST. Apple states delivery of 9/23. UPS 9/22.
I was never able to track by reference.
Those of you who are still waiting may very well have a phone in hand by Friday. Keep the faith!

That sounds about right. From my experience, once your CC gets charged, your order will then soon go into "Preparing for Shipment". After that, the device will soon show up in your Support Profile, and then shortly after that happens, you should be able to look up your tracking number via reference.
Don't get me wrong I'm happy for all of you whose phones have shipped, but I think its crazy that people who preordered well after the 9th are getting their phones before those who stayed up late to preorder.
Completely agree. Seeing people who ordered 5 days after me with the exact same phone and carrier are already getting shipped. Makes me go crazy.
Me too... I chatted with Apple and they assured me that the orders were going out in the order they were received. I laughed to myself and closed the chat.

Exactly how I feel.
I'm confused, because my card was charged yesterday, and no signs of my phone shipping. Funny thing is, when I chatted with Apple, they said I hadn't been charged yet. When I look at my Chase statement, it shows a clear charge, not a pre-auth or hold.
I'm assuming the folks who ordered after you but received their phones before ordered different models. If Apple is actually shipping identical models to people who ordered later than you I'd say that's def messed up.
Mine shipped this morning. My card still has the Temp Hold. Pre-order on the 9th from apple at 3:34AM EST 128GB Matte black for VZW.. It took awhile for the APPLE page to update to shipped though. I checked MY Choice with my # and it showed up. Also, i am able to see it using the oder # apple provided
One key to all of this may be based on what color/storage capacity and carrier/radio configuration that everyone ordered... it's possible that each phone will not be FIFO, but shipping order may vary to some minimal amount by production order/schedule. I don't see that as being a huge thing, though.
Anyone that's shipped today see any more movement on UPS? I have two phones coming by Wednesday but they've been sitting in China since 11:30 AM today. No further updates.
I've seen people that ordered after me, 128 JB AT&T, ordered through Apple.com, getting shipments before mine.
