Yep, below 80% and it's replaced. If I'm above 80% three years from now, I guess I'm OK. If I'm below that, Apple will R&R it. Maybe the replacement will have slightly improved chemistry?

So I'm not too worried about it.

84% now. 171 cycles

as soon as it hits 79%, I'm taking it back to Apple, this is unacceptable

Noticed my battery was a little poor so downloaded Coconut Battery, 92.2% after 93 cycles. Not great.

Still, not terrible. Will keep an eye on it.

How do you find out the percentage? I'm on cycle count 87 and still get 5-6+ hours of battery life.

Not good that there are so many cases of batteries approaching close to 80 percent after just a six months. However, some have said that this is normal and there is nothing much to worry about. Mine is about 95 percent, I ave this macbook since end April.

Although my own 1.2 rMB battery is holding up well, the trend on the forum is concerning, equally the global results of CoconutBattery tend to indicate the same, with the rMB battery losing capacity more rapidly than the 13" rMBP, same can be observed for the 15"rMBP.

Key is the light green dotted line, being the average battery capacity.

Two year old "Retina, 15 inch, late 2013"

415 cycles, 92%

I don't do anything special regards battery; some days it's plugged in most of the time sitting at 100% with an occasional few minutes unplugged, and some days it's drained to 2% and shuts down.

Will there be a recall for RMBs you think?

ok, I wonder if coconut is just very inaccurate on the rMB. The other day it said the health was 87%, now it says 93%....

190 Cycle now... 83%

let's see who will win the race to a new rMB replacement. ;)

correction: 82%

Battery readings will fluctuate from time to time. It goes up and then comes down and can go up again. That's normal.

No, Apple are highly unlikely to do anything, unless there is a strong chance of enforcement by the courts. Only time will tell with the 1st Gen rMB`s battery it may stabilise around the 80% mark, or it may continue to depreciate further. Until we see more data from the likes of CoconutBattery there can be no clear answer. My recommendation is; if you perceive that your rMB is experiencing accelerated battery wear speak with Apple, so that it is documented in their system, should the situation become worse it may help in the future.

Personally I am sick of babying the 15" MBP`s due to the poor reliability of the dGPU`s over the years, I sincerely hope that we are not going down the same road with the rMB`s battery, once again all for the sake of a few millimetres...
