I’ve played a few RPGs over the years. Lately I’ve been fawning over Cyberpunk 2077 as you know, if you’ve been following that thread. In my experience this game includes immersive social elements, the most impressive I’ve seen, your character can be invited to a bar for a drink, attend a sit down meeting for heist planning, be invited on a date, over for dinner, to a block party, attend a funeral, meditate, and some characters are romanceble leading to intimate relations if you help them with their situations/quests.
These elements are not the main emphasis of the game, but provide a social structure that serves to immerse you in the story, become vested in characters and their well being, well as far as a game can pull you in. 🙂
In comparison, Starfield with its romance options is pretty lame. See that thread for critiques.
For 9 years ago, Fallout 4 is decent with a great story setup imo. There’s a thread on that too. ☺️
So what I’m interested in is how do other RPG titles you are familiar with compare, regarding social interaction, providing game structure? What’s your favorites, and why?
