My boyfriend will be joining me later in the wait, but he doesn't want to get up too early. He isn't getting an iPhone, so hopefully no one will kill me! :D

Make sure you make those before and after you in line aware of it. If they don't have a problem, go for it.

When I was camped out for the PS3 someone in lined tried to claim they were there the entire time. They failed when they realized we had a signed list of each spot in line counted every 12 hours.

If they had asked previously, maybe we would have allowed it ... maybe. Just don't sneak it ... people like me have a tendency to blow up when they catch on. :D

I had my girlfriend and my cousin wait in line for me last year. I got there at 5:30 and jumped in line with them. I had some pretty angry looks shot my way, but nobody said anything dirrectly to us. I was the only one of us 3 buying an iPhone that day, so it didn't affect them anway. Be careful though, some people will attack you!

As long as there are enough phones to go around for everybody in line, I wouldn't have a problem with it. If they're going to run out or things are sketchy, then I'd have an issue with it.

If you're not gonna stand in line, don't think you'll get in front of the others who did.

This is the general rule.

Short breaks....must be there to claim your spot at the start...you can't have someone else claim your spot unless they leave when you show up (or if they stay but don't intend to buy an iPhone). As long as the number of people waiting in line in front of you for the same item remains the same...all is good. People can change...but the number of people can't. This ensures harmony. It's always good to tell people ahead of time if your situation will change. Sudden changes in the line without warning can cause problems.

It's also good to practice good hygiene as well. People may decide to eliminate your spot if you stink up the place and decide to take off for 30 minutes to grab a bite to eat.

Yeah, I cannot imagine how irked someone would be if someone cut in front of them, purchased a phone and then they ran out before someone who was waiting in line the whole was able to purchase it.

If you are hot you can just show em some skin. I don't know, they might still kill your boyfriend though.

Yeah...I think the south is very vocal about that kind of stuff. I most definitely wouldn't try it, unless the butt-in is the only one of the group purchasing the phone...or isn't going to buy one at all (and just wants to hang out).

Personally, you'd probably get more than a dirty glare from me. Sorry, but the truth is...if I was there while you were still catching some zzzzz's then I would be royally put out, and you would know about it.

I'm sure that I am not the only one that feels this way. This would also be why there aren't any 'posted rules' for saving a spot in line.

This is definitely not a good look. I remember this happened during the XBOX 360 launch. A cat tried to show up the next morning and hop in line after we waited it all nite to cop one along with his buddy Luckily we had an off duty cop also waiting in line to cop 1 to keep the peace. The ONLY way this is cool IF they are NOT coppin an iPhone otherwise you may have a mob on your hands.

This is not acceptable. I recall an incident where as I waited in line for a game console, the XBox 360, a person showed up and tried to cut the line where his friend was waiting the next morning. We found this really unfair since we waited in line all night and he didn't. Fortunately a police officer was also waiting in line for the same console. He recognized how truly unfair this was and brandished his firearm, thus restoring order to the line. This behavior would only be acceptable if one cut the line and then purchased something that everyone else in line wasn't interested in, lest you have many ppl so angry at you that they send you mean text messages and call you names.

Thanks for the clearing that up for me ;)

if you are in a bad area, then dont do it, as you will get hurt or die. if you are in a civilized area, then you are fine. people wont do anything about it.

edit: I love it how some of you try to act tough over the internet.

I would say NOT!! That friend better be joining you in line at the same time you line up.
