Me thinks you protest too much!

Wow, u ask a simple question and receive such vitriol and sarcasm!

You might think that if you didn't believe in secret hardware fixes you wouldn't reply (particularly to quote a statement i already read here).

I'm sure you guys are correct, as i said earlier, but since i'm yet to purchase it makes sense to get one manufactured after the theorized date.

Surely, what's the harm - why does this offend you guys so much?

I came to Macrumours forums for unpartisan opinions and advice - should i be looking elsewhere, or will someone lend the info sought without having to take personal offense, or preaching an already well stated trust in all things Jobs.

Where's all the "vitriol and sarcasm?"

If you really feel that way from the few mild responses to your question, then you probably want to stay away from these forums. Just sayin'

I think DCfilms has a very valid point.

anyone with a brain can see the blatant sarcasm and disgruntled responses that comes out whenever this subject gets touched on...

...and it's usually the same posters... which begs the question, why does it bother you so much?

If you are happy with your already purchased iPhone 4...then be happy, theres no need to read/respond to threads like this, if all its going to do is make you bitter and annoyed.

Other than statusone's comment after dcfilm's post, what exactly are you referring to?

a few that pops out to me..

What do you think is going to happen on the 30th?? This is simply the date that Apple is ending it's free bumper program and nothing more.

What needs to be fixed?

Not happening, ever.

my friends uncles brothers sisters boyfriend told me iphone us getn a new hardware change...

yeh no lies

Nothing to fix. Move on....

Yeah. About June-July 2011.

Poppycock!!

The only people going on about this are the ones that don't own one.

We who have one know there isn't going to be a revised iP4 because there isn't anything wrong with the current one.

I agree, you're absolutely right ...and they have every reason too, it was one the biggest media crisis of this year.

I reiterate...

There are lots of different experiences and opinions from people here that are reflected in their responses which range from angry to cynical to humerous.

I think the reason MANY people are being so sarcastic is because of HOW MANY OF THESE POSTS there have been. Do a quick search before you make a completely new thread addressing an issue that has been talked about in multiple threads BEFORE this one. That being said, whoever claimed we're all fanboys is just crazy, i'm not a fanboy and its pretty ignorant to assume most people on this site are. Also, especially concerning the signal issue, how have you not realized yet it DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU LIVE! I have had the iphone 4 since the day after it came out with ZERO signal issues (I also work at an AT&T store and have sold over 200 of them since they came out with only 2 being returned, one being a BB user who wanted to try it but went back to the BB and the other bought a 16GB but returned it for a 32GB), so for most people who live in areas with GOOD AT&T coverage we DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND ARE COMPLETELY JUSTIFIED IN SAYING THAT WE DON'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM. if you live in a congested area (NYC or SF or other areas like that) then it is perfectly reasonable to complain about this issue, but in reality the MAJORITY of iphone 4 users DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM so for apple making a hardware fix for a marginally small number of users is not as cost effective as offering FREE BUMPERS THAT FIX THE PROBLEM. Even though the program ended you can still get one if you call into applecare so again I don't see what the big deal is when SO MANY PEOPLE are having great experiences with the phone. If its not working for you DON'T BUY IT or get your free bumper or case and just be happy with your amazing new phone. A month or so ago the return rate on the iphone 4 was like below 2% (don't remember the exact #) which shows just how satisfied people are or how stupid people are for not returning a product that doesn't live up to their expectations.

Edit: just looked up the figures, back in july when the free case program was announced the return rate was 1.7%

MOD NOTE
Let's please keep this on-topic. Stop with the quoting he said/she said stuff. If you see a problem report it don't go quoting it and bantering back and forth.
Thanks.

Theirs been a stronger presence of Moderators lately here on the forums,

1. Why
2. I like it (keeps everyone in check and removes the useless threads)

I heard a rumor last month from more then one source saying they had a updated iphone 4 or something coming out this month...that would fix the signal problem or whatever...anyone else know about this? i am in canada

Why should anyone trust your "sources"?

Apple complains about the tumors that are a direct consequence of Apple's reluctance to keep their loyal customers informed. This is a poor way to run a business and creates resentment among customers.

I guess you didn't read his post. These were posts before his post. So, again, what reason did he have to post the post complaining about people being sarcastic after his first post?

But i read these posts before i first posted and found them synical, self-rightous etc.

I didn't feel the need to say so until i received a few 'piss-taking' replies to my simple request. I didn't ask whether the 'secret hardware fix' were true, yet Statusnone88 and kernkraft felt a burning desire to let me know that there's no fix. Why do they need to tell me this - i didn't ask?

Their responses weren't offensive and were in good humour, but they reflect a general tone here that if you say anything that suggests Apple may not be noblest corp God ever created, then you're in for a bashing from these Apple-policemen and women.

It pretty perthetic - get a life!

So, in answer to your question, yes i was referring to the posts before my own as well as after, when i said they were a little WTF!

Now, please can anyone answer Shanwilliams original question - when would theorized revision hit stores (in UK, please)

BTW, i'm grateful that a few members defended my rant. I hope that their eloquence might make tunnel-visioned here stop and ask, "Am i adding to this discussion, or just repeated a tired mantra....?
