Simultaneous dual band would be great - you could have a 2.4Ghz G and 5Ghz N networks, keep them separate, etc.

The ATI 4670 is about the same as the Nvidia 240M mobile GPU, so its very good (about 3-5x the performance of the 9400M).

Cant wait to see whats around the corner...

Airport and Time Capsule with AT&T Microcell built in. You heard it here first.

I’m trying not get too excited because if these were major updates they would have held an event — even if it was just at Cupertino.

In Countdown to Liftoff!

 T - Minus 48 minutes and counting until Cupertino opens its doors. How the heck is a guy in CST supposed to get any work done with this suspense?!

the more i look at this sku list the more i think imacs are going to be disappointing. they only list one imac sku at 21.5 and with a Core2Duo processor at 3.06 ghz. i fear this means an imac with a 16x9ish screen with only a 2 core processor and in between the old screen sizes of 20 and 24.

i want/need 4 cores and 24 inches of screen real estate.

Ditto - although one can hope for a firmware update to enable the same functionality in the previous generation AE. Seems strange for Apple to update the AE twice in the same year, but then again, none of us were expecting iMac updates in May and September 2005.

There's no audio port in the current AEBS.

People wanting laptops without optical drives I understand, but a desktop that's already small enough ie. a Mini.

Hoping for more useful updates & new stuff, for eg., more matte screen options, rather than too much cosmetic makeover. A more powerful Mini would be nice, too.

i have a reliable source that says the stores should be back up at 11am Eastern time with many of the updates being speculated on.

nothing too spectacular but still pretty nice to get some updated products.

I have a reliable source that says you're talking out of your are :p

I’m trying not get too excited because if these were major updates they would have held an event — even if it was just at Cupertino.

Maybe they didn't want to force journalists and the media to cover another event? Between money and carbon footprint of flying media from all over the country to San Jose to attend an Apple event for a few hours and then fly home.

I thought that maybe Steve or whoever could do a pre-recorded video (essentially the keynote minus audience - or just audience of Apple staff), and then put it on the internet.

I'll be a bit disappointed if theres not:

1. A better lighter cheaper Macbook
2. A cheaper iMac

would make my job easier

new timecapsules? cmonn i just bought mine a few weeks ago. what could they be updating?

I am in the same boat as you.

Sadly, I speculate they simply fixed the issues which are causing them to die at around 18 months. (Which will be tragic if Apple doesn't come clean on the hardware issues with Time Capsule--which they won't.)

Lets hope there are some fun updates...so we can get over Apple sneaking past a hardware recall.

That would be nice....I was holding out on a mac mini for a while...but I may splurge if its the right features/price.
